Nice, my best friend who is a salesman at Acura test drove it a few weeks ago in Atlanta, he test drove both the FWD and AWD and says its a pretty darn solid car. I want that engine cover, I wonder if it will fit my TL.
Hey compewter what is your take on the car?

I didn't drive it, but plan to. Look, fit, and finish is there. I sat in the seat and to be totally honest it was super comfortable. It's not a wow look at me car nor is it bland like its predecessor, but it surely makes a statement that this is above a Honda.
Being the mid level model, this is the TECh, the Base and Advance haven't arrived yet, the car was impressive. I'm 5' 9" and I had a fedora on while sitting in the back it didn't touch on entry, exit, nor did it scrap the roof while sitting back there. It's a large car. Deleting the tail pipes from the rear are a nice touch to the rear as are those killer headlights! I liked what I saw.
My take on cars is there are those that have to wow you in a certain area because it's deficient in truly important areas. Many of my lady friends define Acura as a luxury car for a guy who doesn't lead with his wallet.

My boy who test drove the RLX in Atlanta had the opportunity to test it against the BMW 535xi, Lexus GS AWD, and he said the RLX felt as good as the competition. I saw video of him pushing the RLX in a closed course, he also put the others on the same course and said the RLX holds it own. I had the pics now for a few weeks and I was not suppose to have those pics, as for my friend if those pics would of ended anywhere online he would get fired.

That right there is the problem, for the Acura to succeed ti have to be better as it is the most conservative styling of the bunch. So unless Acura is going for the displaced old folks turned off by the new Lexus grill and firmer ride they need to be better.

I don't know. There are several folks between where I work and work out awaiting this vehicle...and a few are in their 20's. Besides myself there were 4 couples asking when could they test drive. One guy told his wife he wanted to wait for the Advance model and he'd just come in and pick it up. You never know when it comes to styling it runs in cycles.

I do not dispute the tech contents or the fit and finish......interiors are very nice looking but the outside is very boring and bland.....seems a typical "me too" luxury sedan with design cues from others...a bit of Lexus, BMW, etc....as a uninspiring as the outgoing Hyundai Genesis.
Honda unfortunately decided to stay committed to a FWD design for the Acura flagship which will limit the upward potential to compete with the top models in the segment.
Maybe I'm wrong but I'm not very optimistic about this car.....only 6 speed transmission.....
Hopefully the next TL will not be toned and dumbed down in style this badly......

Thanks for posting pics - sharp looking car. If they have some decent lease deals going at the end of the year when my TL lease runs out and if the 5g TL doesn't attract my attention I may give the RLX a look.

Looks like it will fit right in. Hardly a driver's car, but it looks like the rest of the pack in its segment, I'm sure its comfortable, and lots of older folks looking for a comfy, safe ride along with Acura's reliability/durability will give it a serious look.

While I dislike the headlight design, I'm actually looking forward to some real world reviews. Even at 55k I'm sure it's Acura through and through. (Not necessarily a bad thing)

6G TLX-S
The new RLX now has 2 less drive wheels than the old RL.
Speaking about "Advance", the new car is going backwards.
Speaking about value, the new car is now FWD, not AWD.

WDF were they thinking with these headlights? So stupid. I would never buy a car with eight headlights.

It will most likely come at a premium like it does on the TL. If the car starts pushing $60K+ I think they might have a problem with it unless the hybrid turns out to be very special.
How about closer to home?

Old people look on that color , curious what a Black with the nose painted and some rims would look like? more than likely better than that one. still nice tho

Me and Ant$ are talking about that the old RL and the new RLX having very similar price tags, and that the new RLX is of better value.
But the $55K outgoing RL came standard with AWD, and now $55K can only buy you a new FWD RLX.
If the new SH-SH-AWD RLX carried a $55K price tag, I'll dart out to the nearest Acura dealer in my pyjamas to place an order for one at this very moment.

One critic I never understood about the RL is that it was more cramped compared to the competiton, especially in the back.
Well I did check all the measurements (head room, hip room, leg room, shoulder room) and the RL (and TL) are perfectly comparable to the 5 Series and A6 for example and actually even better on some.
They lose only a little in cargo room and just a tad lower head room (both front and rear)
And this is verified by personal impression...I do not feel more cramped sitting in the back of a TL or a RL compared to these cars.

The Acura site says the base is about 48K but does not say what is in the base car. But that's better than 55k

Let's just see what the ricing is. I am hoping they move most of this tech down to the TLX since the Accord has some of it already and keep SH-AWD or offer SH-SH-AWD in the TLX and I will be all over that, assuming the clean up the styling a bit.

I like the look of the headlights-it doesn't look like anything we've seen on any other brand.
I'm anxious to hear the Krell sound system too. I guessing this means the end of the 5.1 surround sound system.

I am not sure why there is so much hate for Acura on many car review websites? Its not just the reviewer themselves but the people that comments on the vehicle and how they always state that Acura is just an expensive Honda...Duh!?! I agree that Acura has created quite a shock wave with their polarizing grill (shield) back in 2009 but quite frankly, there are some polarizing designs out there as well yet don't get the bashing Acura does. I am not sure if its ignorance, just people just wanting to say what others say (a wave effect) rather than actually speaking based on their own opinion. To be honest, I don't really care because I still love my Acuras, still love their designs and what they offer and how great they drive. Maybe it is because I am secure enough to do and buy what I want and like, rather than worrying about what other people will think of me for driving simply an expensive Honda *lol*

You know I hate Audi.
Not you too???
Sorry, I'm just not feeling them.
I'll be they only make it till the next reface, then go down two LEDs.
If this is the new face of Acura, I won't be loyal to the brand.
Reminds me of a car I saw in a movie once...

Was at the dealer yesterday test driving a couple cars with my dad and I was surprised to see the two RLX's that the dealer had were well occupied the whole two hours we were there! They had one in black and one in a nice pearl white, and multiple people test drove each. Very interesting.

Lol...48K-55K no matter, thats BMW and Benz money, and people who can afford this car will certainly trend towards the German makes first...thats guaranteed.
i think Acura forgets, they're not premium luxury anymore (by their own account)
