Love the look! Any handling, acceleration, and mpgs differences with the new rim/tire setup? Any details on the brake/calipers.

Thanks! The wheels really do make a huge difference in the look. It's hard to tell exactly what they will look like on the car before they actually are put on but I am really happy with how they turned out. Which is good because they were more money than I ever thought I would spend on wheels but what the hell, you only live once....LOL

Thanks! Yes, there are some noticeable differences, good and bad. There is a considerable difference in the handling for the better which I think is mostly due to the change of tire but assume the wider and lighter rim and tire width are helping as well. I wish I could say there is a noticeable acceleration gain but I can not really tell much difference but I have to assume it can not be worse since the new wheel weighs 24.6lbs and I believe I saw a post that indicated the stock rim came in at about 31lbs or so. The tire is bigger and wider though so that might even it out. The bad is that yes there is a bit of a decline in mpg, its hard to really say what that is since I haven't really had the car that long but if I had to guess its about an average of 1-2 mpg less. I did expect this with the wider tire and accepted it.

As for the brakes, the new rotors are R1 concepts drilled and slotted carbon geomet series and also R1 "optimum OEp" pads. The calipers are still stock I just added covers to dress it up a little bit and add some color, went with blue to match the other blue with the Sport Hybrid theme. The covers I got are from a Chinese company, AOOA and they are by far the most realistic looking "big brake" covers I have seen out there, I really like them. Sure they are not real but I am also not taking this car to the track and there is no reason to spend the money on a full brake kit upgrade. The rotors and pads alone make a huge difference in stopping power, a lot more than I thought I would get out of them. They are not noisy at all either.

I am really enjoying this car and can see myself sticking with it for a very long time

Nice RLX. I just bout a 2018 RLX today and I'm also in MD @Jejo. I had to drive to Wayne, NJ to find the right deal. These cars really are scarce. I got a 1-owner with 27k miles in pristine condition. It's the metallic white with brown interior. There are definitely some things I wanna do to it to set it apart from the rest. !st things 1st tho. I gotta get it inspected tmrw and then IMMEDIATELY slap the tint on there. 20% all around with 35% on the windshield, of course. I'll post some pics soon. I had a 2010 RL that I absolutely LOVED, but it just got totaled in an accident (not my fault) on 11-6-22. I needed a car for daily and there's nothing else that really checks all the boxes like an RL(X).

Nice Pick-up! I've had my 18 RLX hybrid since Dec/2019 and loved having it since. The lockdown has really limited my mileage in the last few years. I'm only at 50% oil life after 12 month 2 years in a row. Watch out for potholes! I ended up getting a pinch flat in the sidewall a few days after purchase. I was lucky and got the spare tire kit and it took almost 2 weeks to order a replacement tire and get an appointment with Discount Tires. I ended up going with aftermarket rims because I don't want to try to look for OEM replacement rim if they get bent on the next pothole on a discontinued vehicle down the road.
