Just put down a deposit!

I have just gotten back from the dealership. I got an awesome deal on a lease for an '08 TSX 6-speed w/navi. The dealership I went to only had a white/ebony one that I wasn't interested in. They told me that since they have one to trade they feel it will be no problem finding one within a few weeks (told me 2-6). I am currently in an '05 Accord EX-L and before that had an '01 RSX S-Type. I am very excited to get back into a manual car as my Accord was an auto. I had been looking at the Civic SI, VW GTI, BMW 3-series and the new Accord Coupe V-6. After pricing all of these out I can't believe what you get for your money with the TSX. I know that new ones are coming out for '09 but my lease is up in the mid of Feb and I just can't wait.

For those of you with 6-speeds, did your dealership have it in stock or did you have to wait? How long did it take? I gave them 5 colors that I would accept (Arctic Pearl Blue, Royal Blue Pearl, Carbon Grey, Alabaster Silver, and Black) and they said that would help get one faster.

Congrats. I just picked up mine on Saturday. I went in Monday (new years eve) and we put down the deposit. I wanted either white or carbon gray - they had to find it as they had no 6MTs in stock. Took them a day to find it from a dealer about 50 miles away. Brought in two days later, but I was out of town and couldn't pick it up until Sat.

They should be able to find them. I actually did an online search of all dealer inventory in the area (at least those dealerships that let you search their inventory online) and handed it to them.

If you choose to do that, some dealers don't list tranny details... VINs with 6MT NAVI will start with JH4CL959

JH4 is the country of origin (J), manuf (Honda) and type (4=sedan), CL9 is the TSX model, 5=6MT and 9=Navi (8=non Navi)

Once I figured that out, it was really easy to find them. Enjoy!!!

When I bought my 06 6pd w/nav Milano red/eb tsx in Nov 06 the dealer did not have that color combo in stock but were able to get it from another dealer that was 135 miles away from them. I did not have any concerns with that extra mileage as that is the color I wanted and I did get it for a excellent price. enjoy it-great cars-mine has almost 34,000 miles.

My '04 6MT MSM/Quartz Non-Nav was on teh dealer showroom (have traded it for an '06 RL). We had to order our '08 MR/parchment 6MT/Nav since one could not be found. My wife was set on that color combo.

Well that was MUCH quicker than I expected. Just got a call from the salesman and he found me a silver with black interior that he will be able to trade for and have on the lot within the next few days! So I should be in the car by early next week at the latest!

I am so pumped!

I had a similar experience with my silver 07 6spd with NAVI. Dealer didn't have any in stock but they had a killer money factor at the time on the leases and even though they didn't have them in their lot I was able to negotiate a great deal.

I put a deposit down and was in my new car in a matter of 3 days... they traded with a dealer in NH... I'm in CT.

I didn't worry about the miles knowing I got the car I wanted without any regrets... well worth it.

Just happened to stroll into the dealer one day. One Nav 6spd was in stock. At that time, I still had to sleep on it, so went home. I came back two weeks later, car was still there. Had to believe that that car was waiting for me.

I guess it was meant to be.

my tsx was driven the 135 miles from a dealer in Ramsey, NJ to my dealer in Emmaus, Pa. I then drove the car 700 miles home in NC. I had no worries then or now. It runs excellent with almost 34,000 miles on it now.

my PWP/ebony was driven by my salesman from RI to MA (south shore). i was reluctant at first (for having the mileage put on it), but it's not cost-efficient for dealers to hire flat bed trucks, unfortunately. it wasn't much mileage at least.

plus i'd rather have it driven (carefully!) than chained to a tow truck driven by some random dude. i saw what happened with my last car on the tow truck

congrats, and welcome!
