Just bought a 2014 RLX

I am a new member here in AcuraZine.

Coming from BMW 545i to new Acura RLX.

Still in break-in period. I haven't had chance drive aggressive to try out P-AWS.
But, I sort of miss bmw's rear wheel drive and high speed handling. I think that is just something front wheel drive car can't match.

RLX is a much comfortable car compare to my old BMW. Since I am no longer young, I think I made a right choice.

I really like all the features that RLX tech package has. blind spot monitor, LDW, collection warning, brake hold, and all nice audio and phone features all works great.

RLX looks really good in and out. The Jewel Eye LED headlight is amazing. Super bright and really beautiful at night.

Overall, it is a great luxury mid/full size sedan. If you are looking for a sporty sedan, you should probably wait for all wheel drive model or european brand.

Welcome to AZ and congrats on your purchase. We look forward to opinions from actual owners about the car.

Given that you are used to RWD, your opinion about how PAWS handles in spirited driving would be interesting to me. Hopefully you'll let us know once your car is out of the break in period.

Again, welcome and congrats!

Welcome to the Acura family!!
It appears that 100% of Acura RLX sales are coming from disgruntled BMW owners - an interesting trend.

LOL. How many does it take to constitute a trend?

Lol. I still like BMW. But I think it is time to try something different. Having kids in the car most of time, I don't really drive aggressive like I used to. A nice comfortable car with more cool feature is my choice.

I stand corrected - he is fully gruntled.

It was just a joke based on the fact we've only heard from one RLX owner so far. Geez.

Good looking car! I didn't know there was an Acura dealership in Fremont. Is the car black or really dark grey?

The ext color is graphite. This car was in dealer's show room before I bought it. It got detailed I believe.

It is a great looking car. Congrats on your new car. My Acura has been the most reliable car I've ever owned which is in stark comparison to my E46 coupe which was the car I had before the TSX. That car was great fun to drive, but spent too much time at the dealership. Hope you have many years of trouble free ownership.

Did you happen to get the new Krell audio system? If so, how does it sound?

That is in stark contrast to my e46, who was at the dealer for warranty work once...to tighten the antenna screw. That car was fun to drive, smooth and reliable.

OP: congratz on the new ride.

Glad your car was more reliable than mine. My E46 spent more time in the shop than all my other cars combined, but, I will say that BMW paid for all of it. Great warranty/maintenance support. Just had to get rid of it when that ran out. I didn't regret the E46 at all, fun to drive, great dealer support, just couldn't afford to keep it past 4 years.

Sorry OP for the off-topic!

Congrats! Looks great! We used to have a 1999 RL that we loved! Lasted nearly 250,000 miles without breaking a sweat. Didn't really care for the 2005+ gen RL but this new one is looking sweet!

On a side note, recently my friends and I went on a trip down to San Diego and at one point a black RLX drove past us in traffic and a little bit after a black 750Li drove past us. We thought it was the same car. Not a bad car to look like, IMO!

No Krell audio. Only Tech package. The sound is not bad in tech package.

Yeah, I was never a big fan of Acura, but the new RLX looks great and I also like LED headlight plus the 2 screens feature.

I am happy with my purchase so far.

We totally love ours and your car is really nice. We just got the side door guards on and man it ads to the car. Seem to break up the side panel wheel.
