I finally picked her up (New RLX)

I finally picked her up, a little upset with Acura that they no longer have Weather Radar as it was previously offered on my 07TL and 09TL.

I spoke with Acura and they weren't much help, bla, bla bla..

Other than that, she is a beauty and is super quiet.

Just loading the address book and Acura Link, 200 entries for the address book....

I went with the White Pearl exterior and Seacoast interior.
One thing about her is that she is powerfull and super quiet. She also handles quite well with the P-AWS when you have to push it!

I must have read the Manual twice thinking I would get in front of all the new systems....Ha!, I had to take a coffee break just to calm down...There are just two many changes between the 09 TL Tech and the RLX (A) almost like sensory overload. Just glad I'm retired....

Nav Weather???

Actually, you can signup for Weather from Sirrus, BUT the RLX is not programmed for it. I had to call Sirrus and have it cancelled..

No WX Radar

Just to clarify my discussions with Acura, I told them that for us who do a lot of traveling we would like to keep up with what mother nature is going to throw at us and that having to rely on my IPhone with weather app just to see the current radar is not a safe way to drive.
I would like to discuss with someone who cares enough to pass the info on to the Engr. Community....
I'm planning our next trip departing in early Sept for Montana and then back to Branson for a reunion before heading home...That is 5323.8 miles...
I can't wait to head out in the RLX!!!

Congrats and enjoy an ultimate road trip. I just did a 4k mile road trip last month (not in an RLX, though) and those are always fun to me.

Victober...No problem I hope you took care of my baby....I just couldn't figure out why would someone with a gorgeous RLX would want to use a TL as his avatar Can't wait to see your pics...I am itching for a new car and seeing the RLX in person. The pics I have seen thus far (in white) looks gorgeous....I am starting to warm up to the design although the TLX is likely in my future

I like the fact I can see the rain on the map before I arrive in the stormy weather. Love it on my TL. Now that I don't have to subscribe to xm to get it, it's even better!

Well, in the RDX, its easy as can be. A new text arrives and you will get notification. The default will be on "read" so you just press the wheel (big knob) and the music will stop and the friendly lady will read out loud the text message

dwest,
How do you get weather info on your TL without an XM subscription?

What I mean is, you can now subscribe to just weather and traffic for $8 per month. Before I had to get a radio package to get both.

When I bought my CTS I noticed that it would give me the current conditions, three day forecast and also a pop up would appear on the nav screen if a weather alert like a tornado warning was issued in the area I was in. It does not show radar though.

When the three month subscription ended I asked to new with the same service I had, including weather. The XM rep stated that my car didn't support "NavWeather". I insisted that I had some sort of weather, but they repeated that the system in my car didn't support it.

So..... I renewed with the music and NavTraffic. I still get the weather so I am guessing that the weather weather information streams in with the traffic.

I wonder if the RLX is similar, assuming that there is a screen to display weather information.

Maybe XM were so embarassed by the useless weather feature, when compared to other means of accessing data, that they decided to give it away?

I'm pretty sure it is. It's specifically explained in the nav manual. I'm planning on adding it to mine.
