HUD and Polarized Sunglasses
HUD and Polarized Sunglasses
I have several pairs of non-prescription polarized Sunglasses and they all dim out the HUD. I have the HUD on max illumination and it shows around 1/2 intensity with the sunglasses on. Tilting my head slightly does brighten up the HUD to max levels. Really want to stick with polarized because of the extremely bright days in the southwest with +300 days of direct sunlight, lightly cloudy skies, and glare/reflection off everything during the day.
Any one had luck with non-prescription polarized sunglasses that don't dim out the HUD?

I have exactly the same issue. The speedometer reading projection was a super buying point for me but, unfortunately, current technology seems to restrict the visibility.
I have a polarized filter on my DSLR that spins depending on the amount of filtering needed for the outdoor pic. I was hoping there were some polarized sunglasses that have the filter arranged differently to help see digital dash, navi info-tainment screens, and HUDs better. There has to be something out there since one, some, or all of those types of info displays are becoming standard on almost every vehicle. Might have go with non-polarized sunglasses until I find a good pair of polarized.
