How to remove the camera cover on the windshield behind the rear view mirror?

Does anyone know how to remove the black plastic cover on the windshield behind the rear view mirror that covers the cameras and other forward looking electronics? There is a small door right above the mirror mount that I have removed, but it isn't clear what should be done next. I don't wan't to start pulling on anything for fear of breaking something. My goal is to do some strategic trimming around the mirror mount so I can use a Blendmount radar detector mount that attaches to the mirror support.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
