AWD System Warning

At this speed the power is cut and it loses a mph and them re-accelerates to 76 and then cuts power again. It seems that the electric power will function a little odd or not at all during the fault.

Cross-posting this here (from problems and fixes) in case this has happened to anyone recently.

Exact same thing happened to me today in my 2014 SH. Plus, when I put the car in reverse from Park, it has a noticeable buzz sound. Taking it in this week for sure, but hoping someone has had this happen so I know what to expect.

My 12V recently died while the car sat in my garage for about 5 days (the battery was fairly old, if not stock)... Anyway, I could not start it and among alerts/lights, I got AWD system error like this one, as well as a power system.
I jumped the car and took it to the dealer for battery replacement. During my drive, power was being cut off at 76mph... literally the same as you described.

Based on that I would say test your 12V battery, and likely you will need a replacement.

Thanks—would have thought that first thing, too, but Acura just replaced 12v battery last month. Maybe it has something to do with that change out…

I haven't seen this issue with my 18 RLX hybrid (22,000 miles) or my 19 MDX hybrid (34,000 miles). My error messages on these hybrids were related to low 12v power letting them sit too long early during the pandemic shutdown. I just replaced my 12v battery on my 18 RLX in December because of an U0104-00 ACC error and U1100 gauge control module loss of communication. Seems Acura's are very sensitive to low 12v system power. Most of my warning lights ended up being power related to 12v battery or alternator related. Unfortunately, the power issues seem to light up every other system instead. I've pretty much replaced my alternator serval times on my previous Acura once I get over the 8-10 year mark with the OEM alternator.

33,000+ miles on my 2018 RLX-SH and no such issues. Replaced the battery a year ago just based on the age of it.

Battery, or its replacement process, has to be the "person of interest".

I do not have a SH-AWD, but in replacing my battery in my 2014 RLX ( advance trim) I l have learned if the battery sensor was not tested as part of battery replacement, the monitor can cause alternator to undercharge battery causing pre-mature battery life and random fault light messages as you described. Have dealer check that battery sensor as I would guess it may be the root cause of the many battery replacement issues mentioned in this forum. It is not an expensive component in my model. Was only $35$ US for the part. Good Luck with the diagnosis!! Demosan
