RSA's - longetivity

Hi all,

Does anyone know how many miles the RSA's on the Aspec trim are averaging? Mine are currently brand new, but I'm wondering if they will make it to 30k. I drive pretty conservatively, and try to stay off boost most of the time.

Thanks so much!

Rsa? rear strut assembly? what does staying out of boost have to do with Rear strut assemblies?

the car is made to be in boost. lol why would you stay out of it? full torque is something like 1500RPM, meaning there's no way you're staying out of boost

I was talking about the Goodyear RSA tires.

lol my thoughts exactly, what does boost have to do with tires longevity.

Going back to the topic, I had Eagle RSA's on two of my previous cars (GM compact and TSX V6) they both came with them and IMHO they sucked.
Traction was not the best on wet pavement and they worn out pretty quickly, at about the 22-25k mile mark I'd start looking for replacements. Now on the RDX could be a different story.

If you don't push the car, the tires should go beyond 30k easily. I occasionally drive the car aggressively (but smoothly), and the tires still have a lot to give at ~24k.

In terns of grip, they suck at first, but once you wear out the outer surface of the tires, the grip level improves considerably but still well short of modern high performance all season tires. The key to extract the grip from these tires is to be smooth with your steering input, as the grip breaks abruptly with sudden change of direction.
