Low quality rear camera and GPS images.

Has anyone noticed how fuzzy the rear camera image is when in reverse and the GPS image? I was backing at the grocery store and couldn't tell if there was a small tree or a person behind the car until the person started walking. It looks as if someone has smeared vaseline on the camera. I have noted the same fuzzy images in YouTube videos of people who have filmed their infotainment system. I have also noted that the contrast on the GPS is poor. The background is light gray, while the street names are dirty white. At times I find it hard to read street names. I have compared my 2019 RDX with my 2017 Denali. The Denali puts the RDX infotainment system to shame.

Thanks in advance for your observations

Also try lowering the brightness on the nav.

Mine was very washed out and white until I lowered brightness.
Now it’s fine.

My rear camera is clear so it’s possible your lens is dirty.

I would wear the camera out if I cleaned it any more. Please note, I noticed the same hazy look on YouTube videos. Also, I noted that automobile journos have made the same observations.

Thanks

Jerry

Thanks for the tip on the brightness. I found more adjustments that helped. Black level and Contrast helps as well.

My friend, you are absolutely right. Cheap rear camera has a very poor resolution. Even Hyundai's have a much better cam
