Key Fob Memory Loss

Our RDX no longer recognizes the key fobs for driver 1 or driver 2. We have to push the memory 1 or 2 buttons in the car to get the seats, etc. to adjust for the appropriate driver. Anyone have a fix for this?

I'd try new batteries in the fobs first......although one would think they would last a bit longer. Do you use the fobs a lot outside of ingress, i.e. remote start?

Batteries don't seem a likely cause. The car's only 7 months old and one of the fobs is only 3 months old (dealer had lost one and gave us a new one when we purchased in May). We don't use them for anything except locking/unlocking. They're still working for everything except the memory for driver 1 and 2.

Has anyone programmed a fob for the 2019/20 RDX? Programyourremote.com says: "There is no manual on board procedure to program a keyless remote to this vehicle. This vehicle requires special equipment be connected to the vehicle to program the remote."

Check the settings at Vehicle : Driving Position Setup to see if the memory link has been turned off. Refer to the RDX Owners Manual, page 347.

Thanks! I'll check that out, however, the memory buttons still work- but that does say "link".

Without doing or changing anything the car is now implementing the memory settings for driver 1 and 2 based on the key fob in use. Go figure!? I did check the settings after the fact, and memory link is turned on.

It almost sounds like another ramification / slight aside of the infotainment debacle.

Question

Did the Dealer give you the "Correct FOB". What I mean is that they are marked on each FOB either with a number 1 or number 2. If the dealer gave you a duplicate of what you already have i.e. two Number 1 then I wonder if that would cause a problem?
Just a thought.

Yes. The fobs are correct. They worked. They stopped working (only for driver memory). They're working again.

I've had this happen couple of times. In my case I finally figured out that when the key fob and my cell phone are together the car does not pickup the key fob for seat memory. Car still starts fine. I had a habit of having both in the same front pants pocket or placing both in center console together. I keep them separated and no more problems.

I don't think that's what's happening with us. Who these days doesn't have a cell phone with them when getting into their car? Even so, we never have them in the same pocket. But should that really matter?

Mystery Solved: The key fob memory link not working was related to a bad battery. Battery replaced (under warranty) - problem solved.
