Key fob blinks yellow every 12 seconds
Key fob blinks yellow every 12 seconds
Does anyone know what it means when the key fob blinks yellow every 12 seconds after locking the car? It keeps blinking for several minutes, maybe more (I didn't bother waiting until it stopped). Does this mean the key fob battery needs to be replaced?
Here is a link to a video showing the key fob blinking:

Reading the Owners manual, the best I can come up with is that the remote is receiving radio signals.
http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/p...BTJB1919OM.PDF
Page 149 talks about radio communication between the car and key and how you shouldnt place the key near electronic devices or metal.
page 155 talks about the LED lights, orange or amber lights up once you press the lock button then three seconds after that, a green led should signal. which yours does.
this indicates to me that the orange or amber light is the communication light...

It's not very clear to me either, but to your point, it sounds like it is a communication status light that indicates that the car is within range and the key fob is able to communicate with the vehicle to lock / unlock doors or remote start the engine.
Thank you for that, as it's more information than I had before, and I don't have to go around looking for CR2032 batteries during COVID (as my first thought was that the blinking was a warning that the key fob battery needed to be replaced).
