Infotainment System Dead

After my trip to Chicago with my only issues being the infotainment system, I am taking my RDX to the dealership tomorrow and leaving it so they can diagnose and try to fix the issues.

Apple Carplay

Apple Carplay stopped working yesterday. The icon on the infotainment screen is grayed out. The cord is working fine because the phone is charging.

The wire that carries data may have a break. Just to rule things out you may try another wire or trying using that wire to plug to your computer to see if data flows.

Tried a different wire but it did not work. Still a grayed out logo and no connection.

Sorry it didn't work, thanks for giving it a shot.

I am trying to think of other things, but not getting far.

Have you tried connecting just an audio source (iPod some other MP3 player?) into the USB in the console to see if the data connection is working? I would think if there is something wrong with the port you might not get sound, but I would think most definitely you would get album art.

EDVenture,

i dont connect my iPhone via cable often, but tonight I had to. Cat Play acted like you have talked about. When I picked up my phone (at a red light) it said it had to be unlocked to use accessories. Not sure if that is your problem, but thoughtI would pass it along.

I verified the phone was unlocked but that did not help the problem. Also, switched to USB audio and it works fine which rules out the cable.

PROBLEM SOLVED - Apple Car Play was disabled in the infotainment center. Sounds like user error but I have not been in the settings menus since it was purchased.

Random bit reversals in computer storage devices are kinda fun too. If the settings hadn't been touched, it was touching itself...

AFAIK doing a "hard reset" of the infotainment system requires removing power, unless there's a way to do it in the developer's menus. I believe there is an option in settings to "restore factory default settings". But reinstalling the software on the internal storage device is probably a dealer service task.
