Homelink Issues

I have tried numerous times to program Homelink to my Genie Garage Door opener and it says it is programmed, but never opens the door. Has anyone else had this issue? I have reset the Homelink a number of times and even tried the main unit connection instead of the handheld, but nothing. My last vehicle had Homelink and I had no issues connecting.

If your garage door opener uses rolling codes you may need to press the learn button on the back of the garage door opener then go program the home link in your car. Therea a very specific step by step in the owners manual for garage door openers with rolling codes.

I found a very good guide from Homelink concerning my opener and there is a step apparently I did not perform. I will try it when I get home from work.

Thanks all

Programming the HomeLink in my ‘17 Ridgeline was easy. I tried numerous times to do the same with my’19 Rdx, no luck.
From memory, the instructions state to park close to the learn button. That didn’t work either. My solution was to purchase a new
keychain remote. After syncing this with the garage door, the next step was the Rdx. When the Rdx was in learn mode. I rapidly pressed
the keychain remote while it was a few inches away from the Rdx’s overhead console. Problem solved
