Is your heated seat engaging when you use the remote start?

Sorry to be beating this to death but I live in New York and our winters are cold and these remote start features (or lack there of) are ridiculous. This would have impacted my decision to buy this car
My apologies, the heated seats don't work with the remote starter. Sorry for the confusion.

I had been having a problems connecting to the vehicle for the past two weeks. Kept showing Blocked and I couldn’t Allow. I deleted the app and reinstalled. When I logged back in I realized I had been using the login ID from my 2017 RDX. It still showed my new RDX and VIN (that I entered) and I could send maps to the car, but nothing else. Once I used the correct ID it came right up. (In my case it was the AcuraID, same one I log into Acura Financial.

Call Acura and create a ticket. That is the only way it will be fixed as I have said several times.

I'm thinking of buying a '19 RDX Advance Package. Am I to understand you can remote start using the app without getting the remote start option ($400). Acura web site says you get 2 remotes.

Yes, you can use the app but the app has an annual fee attached to it. If you plan to keep the car more than 6 years, you may wish to consider purchasing the remote start optional equipment. If <6 years, just use the app as it is more economical and also offers a bunch of other nice to have features. The 2 remotes that come with the RDX are standard key fobs without remote start capability.

Question AcuraLink remote start feature free after a few years?

When we bought our 2019 RDX the dealer told us that after a certain number of years (I think it was four), the remote start capability would be left permanently enabled in the app. In other words, they said we wouldn't have to pay indefinitely for the feature. Has anyone else heard this?

I had my previous vehicle still in the app and switched over to that car to take it out. Doing that caused the app to have me reconnect to the RDX. Once I went through that everything worked and has continued to do so. So, I backed into my fix but I am guessing that reestablishing the account might work for others. Here is what I am thinking others should try:
- On the app select the torso/face icon in the upper left corner of the home screen to access the Profile screen.
- Select the Account Setting link
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen and select "Sign Out"
- The "Get Started" screen should appear. Select "Sign In" and log back in.
I just did this and the app refused to accept the password that I knew to be good. I went through the "forgot password" process and put back the password then was able to get back into the account. I believe this also happened when I went through the first account reset. I think that, at least in my case, the problem has to do with account authentication on the Acura side.
I'm passing this on so that others with the problem can try and see if it helps but I could have just been lucky.
This worked for me just as outlined here. I logged out, then exited all the way out of the app (swiped up in iPhone), then logged back in. I was immediately able to remote-start my car. This, to me, is an easy workaround. I wish the fix for the Infotainment CarPlay disaster was this easy.

I was told it was part of the free six-month trial subscription, would have to pay to subscribe to AcuraLink Remote after that. Looking at my subscription status in the app it appears to be so. This is similar to how GM does OnStar.

I’m not yet an owner (looking forward to be one next march). What acuralink tier do I need in order to have remote start? What does it cost (preferably in Canadian dollar)? I read all relevant pages on the website but couldn’t find a price nor a clear indication for remote start (locking/unlocking doors was clear tho)

Thanks! (1st post here )

Kebel,

This link that explains acuralink for US owners. Not sure if it applies to Canadians. Perhaps acura.ca has a similar page?

Thanks, Acuralink USA is a lot easier to understand than Acura Canada. So I’m looking at the remote tier, which is probably going to be around $150 CAD. Thanks!

Oh well, somehow I didn’t land on the page you found but on this generic one instead, thus my question : https://www.acura.ca/owners/acuralink/tiers

Acuralink is shit

Since getting my 2020 RDX, their stupid app works some days and other days it does not. It's really starting to piss me off since now I'm paying for it. The latest error message says something along the lines of "make sure your car is in a good coverage area". It's in the same god dam spot in my driveway that it's always been in. I expect this kind of crap from Ford or Jeep, not Acura.
