2019 RDX Oil Level

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum. I have the Base AWD 19 RDX. I had my first oil change at 3,200 miles due to MID telling me that my oil level was at 15%. I got it changed with Mobil 1 synthetic. I'm now at 3,782 miles and the MID indicates oil percent is at 80%. Doesn't synthetic last 5-6,000 miles? At this rate, I will be getting another oil change after driving 2,500 miles from last oil change. I live in New Jersey. Do I change oil based on MID or bring it to dealer for inspection? I feel like oil life percent is going down too fast.

Just FYI, oil LIFE is the not the same as oil LEVEL. There are some other threads on here that go into this in more detail.

The MID has no idea what kind of oil you put in the thing, but FWIW the standard oil is full synthetic. That's what was in it from the factory, and that's what the dealer would use.

The MID estimates useful oil lifetime based upon mileage and driving conditions. Short trips with lots of stop-and-go driving will cause "remaining oil life" to go down faster, and that's appropriate.

Go by the MID. You will be fine.
