I realize that many drivers don't like Red since it makes a vehicle stand out to law enforcement, but with Performance Red on the RDX, we've had many people say "It's beautiful!".

It's one of those cars that looks nice when someone else has it.
I love my red RDX. I knew I wanted this color as soon as I saw the prototype and went to the dealer with the intention to not accept any other color.
It was, of course, in stock because most people wanted the more traditional Acura shades of gray.
Not that there's anything wrong with that....
Looks sweet. I could be wrong, but I'd bet when it comes to the red-attracts-cops thing, it would apply more to sporty cars than SUV's. It's a scientific fact that red is one of the colors that the human eye can pick up on better than any other. But when cops are scoping out cars, they're probably using a radar detector which of course, isn't affected by car color.
I was a bit apprehensious about getting Red but my wife liked it and it was my way to avoid grief for buying the car a year early (I usually do it every 3 years) so I went with the red. Everyone that sees it thinks it looks great. Even with a layer of dirt on it it still stands out, but when it's clean - look out!

Very nice! Is this the Advance or Tech? What options did you select? I can't decide which color and package, between the ASPEC and the Tech, SH-AWD either way. If I get the Tech I would like rear and front lower bumper trim and 20" wheel upgrades. BUT that puts me just over the MSRP of the ASPEC. I'm so stuck I can't decide.
Ours is an Advance. If the Technology and A-Spec packages had been our only options, we wouldn't be driving an Acura right now. My wife didn't want to give up any of the features she liked in her Lexus, and the lack of a small item like rain sensitive windshield wipers could have killed the deal. Personally, I don't relate to the appeal of the A-Spec. Our RDX stays in Sport mode for the same speed performance as the A-Spec, and has adaptive dampers. We also like chrome, light interiors and wood trim. Since you also get the HUD, remote tailgate, more comfortable seats and surround view cameras (which, along with several other nice features the Tech package doesn't have) , the Advance was our obvious choice.
For options, we went with the body side molding, splash guards and the protective films for the doors and rear bumper. Due to the area we live, we didn't feel we would experience any advantage from AWD; however, our major option choice, the 20" diamond cut wheels, gives us a feeling of joy and pride every day and are worth the financial sacrifice. We would have liked the welcome lights, but we couldn't justify the cost of the dealer installation.
Yesterday we left our “veteran” , 2005 Acura TL, as a trade-in and came back home with the elegant Performance Red SH-AWD Advance Vehicle. The color was my wife’s choice. To my surprise, I learned from the dealership manager that they had to fight a pretty strong completion with the other dealerships in the Bay Area in order to get such configuration. Apparently, the demand is so much higher than expected not just for 2019 model, but in particular for the Performance Red Advance and A-Spec options. Our impressions of the new car are really good. The first 140 mi, which we made on the way from the Acura dealer to our place, kept us along the winding road at night, The car Impressed me by the fun drive experience and its overall well mannered, “butler” type predictive behavior, including such smart things as right on time switching from the low to high beams, and pushing the seat back to open a good room for leaving the car upon arrival. My wife considérés this RDX as an automotive engineering art example. I gladly agree with her. And I am glad that this car has been completely designed and built in America.
Acura has always had attractive Red colors. Although I'm not totally sold on how it looks on the 2015-16 TLX. The red on the RDX looks awesome. Enjoy the ride
and everyone just got jealous over your perfect sunny weather.
Yes, but are suffering. The Butte County wildfire is 200 miles north of us and we are being suffocated with smoke. But still nowhere as bad as the people who actually are dealing with the fire :-(
Question for the Performance red owners. How does it compare to the old San Marino red Acura was using. Is it the same and just got renamed or is it a darker color now?

It definitely appears to be more metallic and have more "cherry" to it! I love it, BTW!
Good thing because San Moreno red delaminated like no other!

Thanks. My combo of choice is black/parchment but that seems to be hard to find so when the time comes, I may go red to get the parchment interior. Not a fan of the old San Marino red but a darker "cherry" red would look nice. Is the new Performance red the same color they showed on the RDX prototype last year?

I'm not sure, but I guess so, but I barely remember the pictures of it...
I wasn't a fan if SMR either... Looks too much like it belongs to the Fire Department...
That being said... Whatever red Mazda has now... That's the ideal red, IMO!
The A-Spec and the black trim is the perfect combo. Everyone has their own taste but I can't stand the chrome trim. I also don't like the wood trim. I think most would like some more of the features the Advance has in the A-Spec. Those features weren't enough to out weight the interior looks of the Advance to me though.

Agreed. The chrome almost feels dated, but it appeals to a more conservative segment. The additional features on the advance weren't appealing enough to me, although I never took it for a test drive.

I had the advance as a loaner and the only thing that I really wanted from that model was the head up display. I hated the wood trim and chrome on the advance and so A-Spec was the way to go for me. I did black with red interior.
Hey everyone! I had the stock OEM Advance wheels gloss powder coated with black center caps, and the calipers painted red. I was debating between satin and gloss but ended up with gloss to match the center caps. Pictures below:

I thought about having the guy black them out but I wanted some contrast to match the side chrome piece on the door. If that wasn't there or I had the A-Spec trim, I would've definitely had him black it all out.
