I’m a noob. Could you give more details? Did it diminish performance/acceleration? Did you get 28mpg exclusively on highway?

Hey, don’t apologize for asking a question....this place is about being supportive, not intimidating. There is another whole thread here in the K-Tuner. The tune changes the maps in the computer to increase performance. The tune reduces how the turbo responds to the right pedal....the accelerator. The boost come on in the turbocharger quicker and smoother. The car accelerates quicker, but I have never timed it myself....my seat of the pants dynamometer is my guide,,,,I like it.

I posted this to report on whether the K-Tuner Stage 1 tune decreased mileage. We are traveling from Arizona to Minnesota and returning, This picture was taken in New Mexico while cruising on US 50. The mileage was near the top computed average at 80 mph. In everyday driving around the Phoenix area, I get 20-21 mpg on Top Tier premium 91 octane. The highways in New Mexico seem to have mostly Shell, and their Premium is Top Tier, so I filled up there. I messed up and had to fill up at a Love’s station in OK, to I this is the first tank of non-Top Tier fuel. I usually fill at Costco gad because of the member cost and Top Tier quality.

I am very pleased at the performance of this car! This is the most comfortable car I have ever owned, I am around 6’4’ around 245 with most of my height is torso. Having a sun roof was not possible for e until this car, as the headroom was limited in most cars that I was interested. This car’s panoramic sun-roof is awesome, but not so much in Phoenix in summer....but even with the cover closed I have plenty of headroom. The cooled Sears are awesome! Mine os on all the time. My bride uses her cooling less. The sound system rocks, though my wife’s hearing comfort keeps the volume limited to around 5, when I am alone, I crank it up to 17 before I get pain on my Yep panic membranes, as I love my progressive rock loud. I have figured out how to keep the infortainment system from getting whacked out, but look forward to Acura’s update.....sooner the better, Honda, please.

Time to get back on the road. Wichita, Kansas for the night yesterday, off to Independence, MO. One of our bucket lists is to visit all of the Presidential Libraries. Harry Truman’s library today. Then to Minnesota tomorrow! I plan to be safe, you too!

I bet if you cruised at 63mph-65mph for even a little bit of your road trip; fuel mileage will increase to the low 30's

but then again, when Semi-trucks are passing you by, that's slow

Have you done any mods or is this just K-Tuner on its own?

A lot of the effect on mileage depends on speed and road conditions. Does anyone who lives in arid climates notice a difference in higher humidity? I have probably averaged around 23 overall on this trip and with the realization that with a direct inject engine, Top Tier gas is probably not of great benefit for keeping our valves on the intake side clean. In the Mazdaspeed community there are guys who have invested in blasters using crushed walnuts to clean the inside of the ports and the tops of the intake valves. Just saying.....
