Oil filter Part # ?

Hi:

Does anyone know part # for oil filter on the 2019 RDX? I'm hoping it's the same as the filter I use on the 2013 RDX, even though different motor. Thanks in advance.

I came up with 15400-RTA-003 on Bernardi's (Acura of Boston) parts list.

Replacement oil filters for HONDA 15400-RTA-003:

BrandModel
DENSO 150-2006
LUBER-FINER PH2867
Magneti Marelli 1AMFL00025
Mann Filter W610/6

Intresting that Mobil1 does not seem to have an oil filter recommended for 2019 rdx. Is this some new filter size that does not have many after market filters?

They simply may not have gotten around to updating their listings for 2019.

Would it not be the exact same filter as the 2018 Honda Accord 2.0T? Have you checked for that one?

I hope you are right. Mobil1 usually has a matching filter for pretty much every car.

For Mobil, it’ll be the M-110/M-110A. The same filter since 2001 or so for Mobil 1 fitting Honda/Acura engines. Honda/Acura seem to have standardized on the XXX-A01/A02 version of the above OEM part # for the past 15+ years.

Here are the part numbers for the oil filter, and the drain plug washer.

If you buy in bulk you can get a discount; I usually end up paying about $25 for a pack of 8, and closer to $28 for a pack of 10.

I bought mine from dealership. Just ask for a discount when buying in bulk.

Bought my filters at my local Acura, the part number on the invoice shows as 15400-PLM-A02.

This is the same part number / oil filter I used on my 2014 Accord Sport. I guess it’ll fit Acura too. I noticed another member posted a revised or different part number down this thread. I have at least a dozen 15400-PLM-A01/02 filters. I will buy the new part and compare them. I guess they should fit because they are Hondas afterall.

Also forgot to mention that when I was talking to the Acura Parts guy, he said the oil filter for all Acura's of all years are the same except if you have an NSX.

To add if you want to use a torque wrench:

07AAA-PLCA100 - Genuine Honda Wrench for the oil filter

Torque should be: 12 N-m, or 9 Ft-lbs, or 108 Inch-lbs.

If you neglect to lube the gasket before you screw on the filter, the torque value will be ( even more ) meaningless. The resistance to rotation comes from the gasket.

"Hand tighten" after lubing the gasket is sufficient and recommended. If you over-tighten it with a wrench, you may strip the threads, and you will probably make life hell for whomever gets to remove it later.

A wrench is used for removal. I prefer the plier style. The cap style tends to slip if the thing is stubborn.

The oil filter used by most Hondas and Acuras hasn't changed in decades.

I usually use Fram Ultra XG7317 or Mobil One M1-110. These are listed for 2019 RDX.

totally agree with the above except for the Fram part. Fram is crap...stick to the Mobil1 filters and you won’t go wrong!

I wouldn't use the standard Fram filters on my lawn mower, but the Ultra series is well constructed and easy to find, just across the aisle from the big 5-quart jugs of synthetic motor oil at Wally World.

( Mobil1 filters are on the same shelf for a couple bucks more, if you so prefer. )

Wander is correct...virtually all Honda and Acura vehicles use the same oil filter across years and models since as long as I can remember. There are a few exceptions, so always check first. First thing I did was check with my Honda parts guy and he said the 2019 RDX uses the same filters as all the others (except the RDX engine air cleaner doesn't currently have a cross-matched part with Honda...but cabin and oil you can get from Honda).

I have been using Fram Ultra XG7317 for all my Acuras without any issues; the construction of the Fram ultra is well made. Nevertheless, Mobil 1 filters are also very good.

I know this is a older thread, but is there any material difference between the 15400-RTA-003 and the 15400-PLM-A02? I liked having one stock of filters for my Odyssey and TL, but having traded the TL for an RDX; do I now need to stock the RTA version?

for couple $ more you can buy mobil1, m1-110a filter, its much better made and has more dense element. You can easily run m1 for 2 oil changes, which is what manual recommends anyway

So i checked with a friend that works for Honda and used to work in R&D and the only difference in the two codes was to indicate the supplier. Same specs.

Not too impressed with Honda’s oem filters. I run a Wix 57356XP, much better made and can get locally at orielys https://m.wixfilters.com/Search/Part...%20&Source=ASR
