Important Torque Numbers

Important Torque Numbers

Here are the official torque numbers for the usual components for you DIY'ers:

  • Oil Filter : 12 N-m, 9 Ft-lbs, 108 Inch-lbs
  • Oil Drain Plug : 40 N-m, 30 Ft-lbs, 360 Inch-lbs
  • Front brake caliper : 50 N-m, 37 Ft-lbs, 444 Inch-lbs
  • Rear brake caliper : 25 N-m, 18 Ft-lbs, 216 Inch-lbs
  • Wheel Nuts : 108 N-m, 80 Ft-lbs, 960 Inch-lbs
  • Transmission Drain & Fill Plugs : 49 N-m, 36 Ft-lbs, 432 Inch-lbs
  • Transfer Case Assembly Drain & Fill Plugs : 44 N-m, 32 Ft-lbs, 384 Inch-lbs
  • Rear Differential Drain & Fill Plugs : 47 N-m, 35 Ft-lbs, 420 Inch-lbs
  • Spark Plugs : 22 N-m, 16 Ft-lbs, 192 Inch-lbs
  • Spark Plug Coil Pack : 12 N-m, 9 Ft-lbs, 108 Inch-lbs

Has anyone ever checked the oil filter torque? I think that might be in the DSM-5 diagnostic manual under OCD.

OTOH lubing the gasket before you screw it on is polite. She'll thank you for that.

What’s the torque for the trans fluid level check bolt?

Pretty sure it is 20 Nm or 15 Ft.ilbs. Someone posted pics from manual and specs are in the pic.

The flange bolt torque spec is 50 Nm

20nm, 15 #ft
Trans Drain is 49nm, 36 #ft

I was wondering what was the front brake caliper mounting bolt torque number was, not the caliper slide bolt, but the whole caliper bracket. Thank you!
