I have been using the What3Words app on my iphone to better connect with family member whereabouts and has a link to for instance Google Maps to construct a way to their location. It does not appear on the CarPlay screens nor does not appear to link into the 3G RDX infotainment navigation system despite what HERE claims in the link below, Perhaps this functionality has not been brought to North America. The link is an interesting read and explains What3Words. HERE is the vendor behind our navigation system. This is the part of the link I have not made sense of with respect to the RDX... "Drivers can input a what3words address directly into their car head unit or connected car app"

Anyone ever do anything with this app as it relates to our cars? I suppose I am more curious about this than having a burning need to use it.

 

The end of the article says "Incorporating this new feature is easily done for both new and existing clients, with what3words available as an add-on to HERE’s core navigation products." The client would be Acura rather than us as consumers. As Acura has shown, they have very few plans to actually improve and add features to the navigation system.
