Question regarding the base audio vs tech

I'm looking into the new acura as a lease and most of the things included with the tech package aren't important to me enough to warrant an extra 80 dollars a month except for the speakers.

Essentially I'm curious how the base model speakers compare to the tech ones. I'm not sure if I'd be able to tell the difference. If it helps I'm coming from a 16 mustang with the shaker audio system for comparison.

Thanks

Neither RDX varient will shake your car with bass. Not happening. From what I've heard (and I have the 16 speakers), most people can't tell the difference. Save the $80 if that's all you're worried about.

I have the base. It's only been a couple weeks, but from what I can tell, the audio isn't that good, at least with rap music. When I turn it up, it sounds kind of distorted and rattles a little. Then when you factor in the fake engine sounds, it can sound a mess at times. The 2016 base rdx audio was better, but again, to be fair, I haven't tweaked a lot of settings yet.

I have the 12 speaker setup and find it does not meet expectations. The audio is the biggest let down for me. Tweeters are harsh and the sound is not immersive.
I suggest you take a usb with some songs and listen at the dealership. The 16 speaker system is a lot of money & is questionable if it is worth the money.

Everything else in the car I like a lot.

Base vs. tech difference is big but tech vs. adv or ispec is minimal.

Just wanted to give some feedback...to myself... or anyone else who has the same question.

So I finally found a dealer that had a base model on the lot so I could test the stereo in that one. The tech speakers are better that's for sure but the base speakers are definitely better than what's in my ford. Bass is really good. High is a little tinny by with a little slider adjustment it sounds fine.

Is there room for improvement on the base speakers? Yes. Is it worth 80 dollars just for that? Nah. I think I'll be picking up my base rdx monday.
