Playing USB music OR playing music from the phone while using Android Auto...
Question for you audiophiles....There used to be a Google music app that showed up in AA. I hear it is gone. I don't see it on my AA in my Corsair, and a friend with a Gen 3 RDX confirmed it.
I no longer have my RDX, but my Corsair has AA and USB ports like almost every new car these days. I suddenly decided today that I was bored with SiriusXM, and want to listen to some of my own music, from all the years....and genres... and I have them all on a flash drive, which I copied to my phone's SD card, in hopes of listening to these songs and being able to search, or play the ones I want, while using AA. I am not able to. I'm not sure if this is a Lincoln/Ford thing, or what. From searching Google, it seems that there used to be a music player in AA (Google Music Player?) but it is no longer there.
Any help or ideas?
I might contact the dealer, but like many, their main goal is to get you over the curb in your new car. Although they do have a "tech" guy to help us older folks with the new fangled technology. I'm not THAT old, still help friends and family with this stuff, but I'm just missing something here, I think! I don't want Pandora, or Spotify, or Amazon Music, I want MY music.
Thanks!
(And you all thought you were rid of me!)

I’m an Apple guy, but check out djay 2 on the android store. I’ve used the iOS equivalent to play DRM-free songs downloaded onto my iPhone. It shouldn’t matter if they’re on the phone or on a card. Has a lot of cool features (and looks like DJ turntables!), but it works well as a music player, once you get the hang of it. There should be other options too.

You just need a music player app. I have a Samsung so I downloaded Samsung music, it accessed my music files I rescued from google after they took them hostage. Ford’s AA works flawlessly compared to Acura. Sound quality via Bluetooth audio is superb and the car controls operate it mostly to my satisfaction.
Thank you! After doing a bunch of research, I also downloaded the Samsung Music app. I have over 5,000 music tracks that I own, so I transferred them to my S20 FE 5G. I agree, Ford's AA has been flawless for me as well, over 4,000+ miles. I am able to use voice commands to play my music while plugged in using AA. "Play Dark Side of the Moon" and it plays, and sound wonderful. I was surprised how good Van Morrison sounds.
I’m sure the entertainment in your Corsair is light years ahead of the one in my F150, which is light years ahead of that in my RDX. I have an Apple device, and Car Play is flawless in my truck, and much easier to use on a touchscreen vs the touch pad. The truck also has (gasp!) multiple USB inputs vs the 1 in the RDX which, by the way, only works about 75% of the time.
I’ve copied my music collection onto a small thumb drive and leave it plugged into the USB port so it is always ready should I choose to listen to my own music collection. Oh, and when I select input from that device in my truck, it works 100% of the time!
