Navigation Day/Night

2020 Advance. I have the maps set to auto change but they never have. The only thing not updated is the maps, I'm still waiting on HERE to fix their end. Every time its a network error. Anyways, I can change the maps manually but it has never worked on auto. I have restarted the head unit on a number of occasions. Any suggestions to try before I make the Hour drive to dealer would be appreciated.

Are your headlights on auto?

My map changes when the headlights change.

Something to check.

Also check under the settings menu the interior light sensitivity setting.

The dash lights, do you have them at full brightness at night? Try turning them down a bit. I seem to recall if the dash lights are at full brightness that the map won’t switch to night. I turn them to full brightness when traveling in an area of many overpasses (like coming into NYC across the George Washington bridge) so the nav screen doesn’t keep switching day/night.

This is the reason! You need to have the dash light brightness at least 1 click below the maximum then it will auto switch correctly.
