2006 TSX Navigation Map Color Day Night problem

A few days ago my auto map color feature decided to no longer work. I have all of the settings set to normal and the map color set to auto, but when I turn the headlights on and off the map color does not change to to day or night. I now have to manually change the map color based on the time of the day. Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it? I read the manual and ensured that I did not override the auto feature by setting the brightness to it's normal setting. I'm thinking of taking the navigation disc out and rebooting the system.

I keep my nav on night so I can not help you. If your car is still under warranty take it to the dealer and let them look at it.

This may not help, but I seem to recall a point in the "Easter Egg" thread about switching this. You seem to have tripped over the setting that keeps on one scheme.

On the right side of the dashboard, by the speedometer, there is a knob that controls the brightness of the gauges. If it is set to maximum brightness, the car assumes you want everything inside bright so it keeps your navigation at day time. You have to reduce the setting to 1 below maximum so that it will toggle the mode.

The knob is useful...if you need to turn your headlights on during the day (i.e., foggy or rainy day), just turn the knob to brightness and it'll change your navi mode from night to day.

SoCaliUSCboy, I'm failing to see the humor or the relevance in your quote above ... have I at some point gotten so far under your skin that you're carrying a grudge?

davidboy, it's been my signature forever...the new website just turned it on for me I guess. And no, I'm not going to change it.

Cool

Oh, ahhh.... :lightbulb: I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be, but actually I'm a little flattered.

It probably doesn't show in my profile, but USC (Film & Television) is my alma mater. Yay, cardinal and gold, etc.

And YES, I don't have the NAVI package, so it didn't occur to me to check the instrument illumination. Now that I have access to the Easter egg pdf, what I was vaguely remembering was this:

Press and hold the JOYSTICK for ten seconds to toggle the display from night to day mode.
