Navigation help!!!

In regards to my 2004 Acura TL:

So, I let my sister burrow my car for the weekend. When it came time for me to use it, I noticed the navigation was staying in daytime mode (even during night time mode [lights on]).
I went into "setup", and switched the setting from "AUTO", to "NIGHT", to "DAY", and back to "AUTO", hoping it would obviously go AUTO!, but no luck. I would have to manually change it to night mode when needed.

Along with this issue was a something that has been this way since I bought the car (used). The clock is wrong! (on temperature/radio screen), and when I changed it manually, or "reset" it, it displays the correct time on the navigation setup, but the time above is way off!

If anyone has any suggestions that would truly help.

Is the display setting for the dash lights set to "Max"?

i actually had to do this same thing last night. i tried everything, i would switch it to auto and then i would turn the lights on but the screen would stay bright. i even checked if i had the brigthness set to max but it did no difference. what helped me tonight was hitting the "off" switch in the screen and they next time i turned on the car the "auto" setting actually works.

I know, I've tried all of that. I tried switching it "OFF" hoping it would just reset, but when I switch it back to "AUTO", it stays on daytime mode even when my lights are on. And yeah, it's switched to "MAX" on dashboard brightness setting. If you guys have any other idea, just shoot.

Take off the Max setting. That was your problem. It's in the owners manual:

To reduce glare at night, the
instrument panel illumination dims
when you turn the light switch to
or . Pressing the MAX
button will bring it to the maximum
level.
If your vehicle is equipped with the
navigation system, the navigation
system screen will also go to full
brightness. This can be helpful when
using the headlights during daylight
hours.

In the navigation setup, the time is correct, whether I manually do it, or click "RESET", I make sure it's correct. However on the display above the navi, (same as temp. and radio), the clock is WAY OFF, even though the clock setup is correct.

You need to go into the service menu. I forgot the sequence. Maybe someone else remembers wich buttons you hold down.

Service Menu? Doesn't sound familiar, where would that be located. I am doing all this without a Owners Manual, the guy I bought it from lost it. :thumbsdow
