Issues just getting Apple CarPlay to work

Having issues in getting CarPlay to work - but only on my wife's iPhone8 - my work phone, a 6s, works just fine (and even works with Ways and Google Maps).

Since mine is working, that should rule out the cable being the issue. Only odd thing I see, when you look into the general settings for CarPlay, it does not list the Acura, just a spinning wheel like it's trying to find something.

The 8 is iOS 12 - same as mine...I don't see there being a developer mode like my Pixel for USB bidirectional transmitting. Actually, clicking on the USB in the Acura brings up her playlists...so that shouldn't be the issue.

Any ideas on this? Apple support wasn't very helpful...I think my next step would be a full reset of the phone if nobody has anything.

Thanks in advance,
Joe

First thing to do is a total shutdown and reset of the iPhone. Then, when it boots, turn YOUR bluetooth off, and let her phone have a clean shot.

I would also shut the vehicle off between phones to ensure that the infotainment system does a full re-initialization and not have something cached with respect to the first phone's session that is causing the second phone to clock.

Tried a full reset (which does a shutdown)..shut off Bluetooth and no go.

After that, backed up the phone through iTunes and dumped it. Before reloading it, went down to give it a try, did the Acuralink app thing, but still no luck with carplay.

For giggles, I plugged in her old 6, and Carplay came right up.

As another try, renamed the phone requiring a repairing with the car.

It's got to be something with the phone...

Understood...we've been fighting this over a few days now. It's definitely been shut off...and I've kept other phones away.
