How to pronounce "-" with the Voice Recognition System?
I live in NYC. Many postal addresses have a format like "30-10 Main Street". If I manually type in this address, the navigation
system will find it. But using the Voice Recognition System (VRS) won't find it. I've tried saying "thirty dash ten main street" and
"thirty hyphen ten main street" and "thirty ten main street" but none work. I was curious to see how the VRS pronounced the
"-" so after entering the address manually, I used the VRS and said "Recent Navigation" which pulled up a list. After selecting
the address that I manually entered, the system said "thirty TO ten main street". So I tried saying "thirty to ten main street"
with the VRS and of course that didn't work either -- I think the VRS thinks I am saying "thirty TWO ten main street".
Just wondering if the "-" is used as addresses in other cities, and if there is a work-around. Thanks all.

I've struggled with voice and text input on factory navigation systems for over a decade. Here are some examples that prove either frustrating or impossible to enter:
1234 State Highway 567 North
1234 Farm-to-Market Road 5678
1234 North Loop 567
There seems to be little consistency with how to input these types of addresses across brands and models and even different locations with the same type of address within the same system.
It works great when I use addresses like:
123 Main Street
Sometimes, I have to resort to navigating to a nearby intersection or a city center or other destination then using Google or Apple Maps to navigate to the "last mile".
A couple of months ago, I had a heck of a time adding a destination. Neither text input nor voice input would find the address. The AcuraLink app couldn't find the address. I pushed the blue button and the automated system kept misinterpreting the address. I finally talked to an AcuraLink operater who had such heavy Indian accent I couldn't understand her. Google Maps found it right away and I just used CarPlay (which later froze up causing me to have to pull off the road and restart everything after missing a few turns).

Many street addresses in Queens have hyphenated numbers.
You can just ignore the hyphen.
Example: 151-74 134th Avenue becomes 15174 134TH AVE (The USPS standardized address)
30-10 would be pronounced, "three zero one zero"
