"Training" the voice recognition

HI, I have a silver automatic with navigation, it is the coolest toy I've ever had on a car. My problem is with the voice recognition. I live in Texas but I do not speak with an accent (been to DC, they speak just like I do) and the voice recognition does not seem to understand almost anything I tell it . "Radio on" becomes "choose a destination" - is there a way to train the voice recognition to recognize my speech? To get the radio on I have to currently say "radio uuunn" in a kind of German type accent (odd for a Japanese car). Thanks for any input---

OK, I live in Atlanta and I do have a very strong accent....And I have no problems with the Navi....I think you just need to learn the correct words for the opts.....Like "radio on" isnt correct....Say "Radio Play"... Just take a look on the Help screen on Navi....

the most important thing you can do is read the voice help menu in the info section. read them all and commit a few to memory. if you dont say exactly what your supposed to say it has no clue what you said.
for example you cant say "play cd" you have to say "cd play" and there are certain things you cant say in some menu's usually when your going throug the navi screens you can say anything you can read on the menu. unless your looking at a keyboard you have to spell things by touching them on the screen.
i dont think any of the radio or climate controls work when your in a navi menu. i think all thoes commands only work in the ac menu, audio menu or while the map is displayed.
whenever your confused press the speak button and say "help" and it will repeat all available voice commands in that menu.
you can also say "Display map" and from there most any command will work with reguards to the climate controls or audio functions.
