Someone give this man a trophy.

A 2.0t will likely get better mileage than your v6 in the same situation.

"Accord"ing to Fuelly, the real-world average fuel economy for the 2.0T is indeed 10% higher than the V6.

Based on data from 65 vehicles, 4,120 fuel-ups and 1,329,970 miles of driving, the 2016 Honda Accord [V6] gets a combined Avg MPG of 24.78 with a 0.14 MPG margin of error.

Based on data from 98 vehicles, 2,888 fuel-ups and 851,400 miles of driving, the 2018 Honda Accord [2.0T] gets a combined Avg MPG of 27.24 with a 0.17 MPG margin of error.

I sold one of my 2011 Accord V6 EXL/Navi (sedan) to get the RDX. I kept the 2011 V6 EXL/Navi Coupe. But I agree with you. The Honda V6 is way more fun to drive and I got 30mpg on average due to the VCM. Note the Honda has 271hp and the RDX has 272hp.

In my opinion a Good V6 VCM will match a Turbo 4 (same HP) in mpg.

Just to add my 2 cents to the conversation….I previously owned a 2016 6 cyl RDX and now have a 2019 RDX. My experience so far has shown that the 6 cyl got better gas mileage than I’m getting with the 4 cyl to the tune of 3-4 mpg. I felt that the 6 cyl was smoother and more powerful than the 4. I only have 3K miles on the 2019 so perhaps mileage will improve as it breaks in. I’m a conservative driver so I’m driving in the “comfort” mode. I know the sport mode has more torque but that would decrease the mileage even further if we’re just making an mpg comparison, So in my opinion, while the 4 cyl turbo is certainly more than sufficient, I would have been happier if Acura stuck with the 6 cyl.

So I had the infotainment screen get stuck in boot up as I started driving down the road. I don’t know it was goofing up until a mile or so down the road

This kept everything from starting as far as
  1. radio
  2. as far as I could tell Fake Engine Noise
  3. probably the ANC functionality

RDX was quiet and weirdly calm. I was driving to work so I wasn’t zipping around. At a red light I tried to video the creep which was still doing the twirly dots boot up but it was too dark.

As as soon as I hit the dome light...everything came to life: radio, fake engine noise, and ANC.

i suspect the ANC was off at first because I hear an echo-ish boom over small bumps I suspect is ANC out of phase which was NOT there during infotainment hiccup.

During the short lived calm I was very aware of no engine revs (wish this was normal in Comfort) and didn’t think RDX was noisy.

ACURA should make Engine Revs and ANC driver options!

I agree, option to turn the darn engine simulated noise off.

Make the Turbo Gauge visible, and you will see as the red glow of the gauge increases the simulated noise increases.
First time I accelerated hard in the car the noise was so loud it scared everyone in the car. I thought something fell off.

On another thought, I find the Auto Engine Off a nuisance. I'd rather it work the opposite, such as when I come to a stop I can turn off the engine with the button. As it stands now the car has no way of knowing how long the stop will be but the driver certainly knows better.

Maybe that's the fix for infotainment issues? Toggling the dome light?

in case you didn’t know, you can “half brake” to a stop which prevents Auto Off. It’s an art and sometimes it’s hard to press light enough on brake pedal to stop without pressing too hard which enables Auto Off.

either way, it’s irritating to have it Auto Off at Stop Signs where you know you are only stopping for 1 second. Maybe I’ll start California Stopping!

You can also turn on the front defrost, set the temperature and fax speed, then the auto engine stop is deactivated.

I got used to it in like 5 minutes. If it helps dampen engine noise, too, it is not worth disabling to me.

Loving my 2022 advanced more and more everyday. Love the way it handles AND sounds!

I know this is an old thread. Is the piped in noise removed when the ANC is unplugged? We have the factor stereo and hope unplugging the ANC won't mess with that.
