Many times, mostly on cloudy days the Day/Night mode on the Nav screen will switch on off while i'm driving. I have a 2019 Advance AWD, is there some setting I can change to fix this? I actually took this to the dealer and they were unable to reproduce the problem, mind you the day they were trying it it was a very bright sunny day.
In the Navigation manual, under System Setup you will find:
Select your preferred option. Of course, the option you select will be used for the map color scheme regardless of time of day.
Another possible option would be to adjust the light sensor sensitivity. In the Owner's Manual you will find:
I don't know if this will affect when the Day/Night mode is changed, but it might be worth it to change the one I have highlighted and see if it does what you are looking for. I've not tested it and don't know if the Day/Night mode is tied to that setting, but perhaps you can test it and report back.
Mine seems to go into night mode on when the headlights come on, at night, of course, but also when I pull into my garage or in a parking garage, etc. I'd image a cloudy day could be dark enoug to trigger it also (we don't have many cloudy days here in AZ). As Ron said, playing with one the lighting sensitivity setting might affect it.
I was a bit surprised by that when we first got the car. On our 2014 Tech, night mode was triggered by local sunset time...took me a while to figure out that was what was happening.

I did change this setting yesterday to "Low" to see what happens, thanks for the suggestion and will report back.
