This is what greeted me as I shifted in to reverse to park my car in my driveway. I had just driven home from the dealer. The car was brand new. The next day the dealer plugged the front camera in and the camera system came back to life. I find the dealer’s comment that “the car came from the factory that way” hard to swallow because nobody noticed it prior to me when they shifted in to reverse. Anyway all is fine. The car is truly wonderful. The stereo blows me away with my USB flac encoded DVD-A’s.

 

And. they are supposed to check that as part of their Total Quality Inosection before delivery! So...dealership fail. At least it was an easy fix! Enjoy your new RDX, it is an amazing vehicle!

 

Your camera must have been installed by the guy previously assigned to stereo speakers. My RDX came from factory with the center dash speaker unplugged. Seemingly minor but it is the speaker responsible for navigation audio voice. The system always sounded ok to me but I never understood the stories about how great the system is. Evidently, with a speaker unplugged, the system is not producing sound properly. Man when they returned the car with that speaker plugged in it is like they installed a completely different audio system. It is unconscionable to me the factory let this out the door and tqi didn’t catch it.

The rear view camera in mine worked fine while in reverse, so that's probably why they didn't notice it. The front camera didn't work at all, nor the 360 overhead view.

In your case, I don't see how they didn't notice it. It's not like they don't use reverse while prepping the car. Of course they knew about it. They just wanted to get you out the door.
