Audio, Screen, Touchpad Frozen

Driving today listening to FM, the audio, screen, clock, touchpad (& buttons) all froze. Turning off the audio on the steering wheel or on the dash did nothing.
Volume could only be adjusted from the steering wheel. Switched driving modes and nothing showed on the screen.

Once I go to my destination, I turned off the car and left it. Radio seemed to turn off. When I returned and started the car all was fine.

I have a usb stick in, other than that nothing out of the ordinary. What are the thoughts here, report to the dealer or direct to Acura?

Both... I have had numerous issues with this system and I am forcing them to fix the problems as soon as possible

Report to all. I am not sure Acura has a fix for these issues yet. I assume they will send a system update to the vehicle when they get a true handle on it ( I hope). I had a few issues already also. When system refused to boot, I found that if you pull the #37 fuse ( blue - 15A under driver's side kick panel) wait 30 seconds and reinsert, that allowed the system to boot again. Another time I had USB stick in, and it would not load music. I pulled over, shut off the car, shut off audio by opening door. restarted the car, and it then worked. I spoke my dealer and other Acura personnel, basically they shrug and look at me like I'm speaking another language.

Spoke with Acura at American Honda 888-528-7876, this is where my service ticket went.
  • Acura recommend a USB stick to be no bigger than 32GB, recommend 16GB. I'm using a 64GB USB 3. Seems to me that this is just a response by Acura to placate the complaint since she said this is the recommendation across ALL Acuras. (!?)
  • If Freezing continues a hard reset from the Settings menu is recommended. There is no 'soft' reset. I plan to do this later, just to see the results.
  • Recommended that the Audio settings be set by app (FM, USB, etc) They said it would be submitted.
  • Recommended that the audio have 'loudness' equalization. I find on medium/lower volumes all mid-lows disappear.
Also mention that I think Acura dropped the ball on this audio. The marketing shows a fantastic system, it might be if using flac very hi-end recordings. For FM & 256-320kbs mp3 it does NOT do well enough to meet expectations of such a fine car.
