2019 RDX Bass

I got a 2019 Acura RDX A-spec and the 3D ELS stock system sounds great but I'm finding it lacks depth in the lower end bass. I have gone through and ready some forums and turned off my surround sound. So the stock subwoofer is an 8" getting 50rms. I had a few options and was wondering if any of these would help me.

The first option is to take the factory 8" out and replace it with a Rockford Fosgste P3Sand run it off the factory amp. I'm not trying to get louder as I mostly listen to volume 10 but want to add more depth.

The next option is to add loaded enclosure that has a sub and amp built in a small chassis. Like the kicker hideaway HS10 or Alpine PWD X5 and hide it in the trunk storage area. I would keep the factory sub for mid bass and hopefully I can get lower end depth with one of these. What route is the best and has anyone done or added something like this?

yes i have. look around here for the thread of 'disassembly of rear'. There are a few of us that have detailed pictures of what we did. I eventually went with a seperate amp stored in the left rear storage bin, powering an older Dr HSU car sub. I left the original sub there, and cut the new one off at 60hz. it works out really well for me. The sub is more musical than many out there. just make sure the sub you get gets good reported lower depth to it.
Oh, and make sure you get a sub with adjustable phase. I had to adjust the phase about 45 degrees to get it so it would not interfere with the OEM sub. It depends on the sub, amp, and where it is placed.
