I meant to bring this up earlier to see if I am missing something. The windshield wipers are placed such that you cannot lift them much away from the windshield without hitting the hood. Normally, when I wash a vehicle, I pull the wipers away from the windshield to be able to wipe and dry it easier. Can't do that with this one.

I tried operating them to move them halfway in a wipe cycle and quickly turning off the ignition hoping they would stop in place. But they do not - they return to the stored position.

It's going to make changing the blades a little more challenging.

Have any of you noticed this, and found a workaround?

There is a procedure for that...I think I recall it to be: pull the wiper controls arm towards you and then hit the start button with your foot off the brake to work on the wipers...

Page 549 of the Maintenance Manual..... It works - it is how I clean the windshield and in the future replace the wipers.

1. Set the power mode to VEHICLE OFF.
2. While holding the wiper switch in the MIST
position, set the power mode to ON, then
to VEHICLE OFF.

3. Lift both wiper arms.

Push the wiper switch UPWARDS and HOLD...then shut off the engine, the wiper would then go into the maintenance position.
