Yeah I don't think I'd ever go lower than 80% on the front. What a nightmare that would be on dark country roads.
LLumar makes ceramic windshield tint (AIR) in 90 and 80% (80% is the best heat and glare reduction) with a super light tint, but great UV, heat and glare reduction. Xpel makes 70% tint in the XR and PLUS ceramic to be used on the windshield. Night vision is an individual thing. For me - I'd never go below 70% for the front windshield, but that me.
Several of the youngsters at my gym have 15% and 20% on their front windshields and 5% on the rest. At night - must be like having dark sunglasses on. On a dark and/or heavy rainy night road - that not the visibility I want to have. Tint should aid and not impede your comfort or visibility. Plus, You can't even see in on a bright sunny day on their vehicles. I asked a few how its to drive at night, got "very difficult" and "sometimes I have to open the sunroof to get some light in to see out". Frappin crazy!

Thank you for all the knowledge and info dude much appreciated! A couple of my friends had the extra dark windshield tint growing up and my God it was scary at times. See I already have really really poor visibility at night, I cannot imagine 15% on the front.
Imagine intentionally impeding your own vision to the point where it's a major hindrance. Even when I was in my teens and early 20's I never saw that appeal.

That's a big one for me. I like to be able to make eye contact with other drivers or pedestrians. If you're at a stop sign, crosswalk or parking lot you can wave the other driver to go ahead or you can confirm to a pedestrian that you see them and it's safe to step out.

I hadn't even thought about this! I communicate with other drivers/pedestrians via hand gestures (never the finger because I'm a classy gentleman lol) all the time. Telling people to cross/go ahead...etc. This is a very good point.
This is what LLUMAR 80% Air Windshield tint looks like in the bright sun. Driver and Passenger doors are 30% LLUMAR CTX. All other windows are Acura factory tint.
*Xpel makes a 70% windshield tint.
**Both are exceptional in clarity, similar in specs for heat rejection and UV. I wanted to be able to see with zero restrictions at night on dark road or in the pouring rain.
If I decide to keep it longer (should of done it all at the same time when I bought it new) - will have the back factory windows and pano-rood tinted with 80% or 50% and use LLUMAR IRX - as Texas summers are brutal.
30 months old, 20k miles, zero issues, built like a tank and drives + looks better than the day I got it.

My two front windows are tinted. Can’t remember the details, but high end tint. I’m in NC and have zero issues with getting ice cold in the RDX and maintaining it. Today was 97 and I was cold in the car. Are you sure your AC doesn’t need a charge or something? I am interested in the windshield tint so I’ll have to call my place. NC has strict laws on window tint and I think the windshield is supposed to be clear. The best feature I added to my Tech was remote start! I have used that thing for what seems like 100 yards away. It also make the heated steering wheel cozy in the winter

My AC works like a normal Acura AC. Been check by the dealer - just not as super cold as a Lexus or Infiniti - thats a fact.
Mine looks a bit darker in the pic, than in real life. Windshield tint is almost clear. LLumar Air 80 (80%) is mostly clear (Xpel makes 70% for window tint) ceramic tint, makes a world of difference in terms of UV rays and radiant heat on the dash, steering wheel and front passengers. It's hard to detect, unless you go below 70-80%, and have the side windows tinted 20% or less.
