Windshield tint?
Windshield tint?
I have a NBP with black interior and am getting the windows tinted. I want it to be dark but at the same be able to see somewhat during nighttime. I was thinking about getting 20% all around with getting 50% windshield, does the 50% windshield tint make a noticable difference? Or would I be better off getting 15% around even if it reduces visibility at nighttime. Also, for what it matters in my area cops are cool and have better things to do than pull people over for tint.
dont do the whole windshield, if you get into an accident, it doesnt matter where you are. If they notice that your winshield is tinted, expect to have a lot of problems. I did a 5% all around tint, and on the windshield, i did a 12" strip (2x the legal limit) of 5 % and even with just that, it is difficult for people to see me even through the clear part of the widshield.
^ they got a point......
But, i got 15% all around with 30% on the whole windshield. Its very noticable that its tinted and i have had a few tickets but i like it so i keep it on.
If you get 50% on the windshield it will still look hott!

I had a buddy who had 50% on his windshield and he had an accident and even tho it wasn't his fault they gave him a ticket and the opposing insurance would not cover his damages. But it's up to you.
Whole windshield tint is illegal in the state of California, but I don't where you are from.
Whole windshield tints can also pose as a hazard, because it can affect your driving. Since you do look out your windshield the whole time when you drive. Also, in California, its required the red light camera gets your front plate and picture of your face in order for you to get a ticket. If you have whole windshield tint, the chances are the camera wouldn't get a clear picture of your face due to the tint.

I've had 50% before on one of my previous vehicles and would like to do the same on my current. Personally it made night driving easier on the eyes. A good set of headlights are a must and the glares from on coming vehicle headlights are minimal.
I'd skip the windshield tint also for safety as well as legal issues. 20% should look pretty good all around. I would double check the 3g garage for the tint law in your area and go for something that works for you, but also doesn't get you a ticket.
I was wondering the exact same thing. After a couple of weeks of research, I decided to go with 20 all around and 50 on the windshield. This will look good on any color of car. I still haven't done it but I am sure this is what I will do after looking at several TL's with different types and shades of tint. Go to the Photograph section and search for "tint" and you'll see what I mean.
Had mine done 30% on the windshield and loved it makes the car look cool from the front (had a nbp to) but to be honest isnt worth it... I never received any tickets for it but i have been pulled over on bright sunny days and every time the cop was traveling in the opposite direction of me. even though it is cool to have it is not worth it
lol i can see clearly at night and i have 15% all the way around including windshield... as of insurance not covering it.... maybe i just got lucky but car slightly sideswiped me and nothing was ever said... all damages were paid.
I have YET to be stopped by any cops and the car looks so much better with it tinted on NBP. Also it helps on sun when very bright outside
GL!

I have to say, that it is nice, I have 20% all around on my am tl and had 20% on front windshield looked hot but you need to make sure your headlights are always clear, clean and work properly, because it is a safety issue. I haven’t got pulled over for it but at night doing all those checks get tiring sometimes you forget and dark objects are kind of hard to see. but 50 % isn’t much car comes with 75% already just add a sun strip and do it 12" and go with 20% it will be hard to notice who is driving but look hot as well. And to tint you front windshield you must and I mean MUST at least have a doc's note that way you don’t have to pay a hefty fine and pay a tint shop to remove it.
