Resurrecting this old thread to chime in with my 2020 RDX Advanced. Picked it up on December 31st - and got my first window chip/crack on April 10th. Very annoying. I drove through some kind of pebble storm on the freeway. The pebbles were very small. I do have some front-end marks...but my windshield got his and cracked. I can't believe how fragile the windshield is.

I'm also noticing some weirdness now that I'm looking at the windshield close up. I'm find what looking like artifacts or...shapes between or inside the glass. I found a triangle shaped mark that seems to be in the actual glass. I can see that it appears to be floating between the layers of the glass. I can't feel or clean it off when wiping the front outside windshield or the interior side of the windshield. Super weird.

Luckily it will only cost my about 60 bux to get this fixed with liquid sealant, but I've had my 4Runner since 2006 and never had any issues with my windshield and that thing has been through all types of hell.

 

Just got my windshield replaced. Is this normal? The plastic part being over the windshield? This is by the lower left side of the windshield.
