Windshield Smashed

My wife and I were driving in my 14 RDX, in a line of cars going 85 KMH,(about 50MPH) when from nowhere (probably a passing truck), but there was a line of traffic going the other way, when something smashed into the windshield, right in my view (I was driving). Smashed my windshield real good in a huge star fashion. I would say it has spread like a star about 6" around. Never had one that bad. What a royal PIA. Weird thing is there is no surface pits at all, just seems to be internal. Crap.

Glad you are okay, really easy to lose control of the car if that happens. Probably a large rock, maybe shot out from the side of a tire in the opposing lane. Glad it wasn't larger, could have penetrated the windshield.

I had a Walmart delivery truck kick up gravel at me on the freeway causing a nice spider in the windshield. First time i have ever had it happen. Going to have it fix ... but after seeing a number of posts on this wonder if there is something up with the glass. (Or more likely, we're all just unlucky!)

I don't know but I have never seen a crack like on my windshield. I had a 2010 TL for 3 years that never had a problem with the windshield.
