Using phone and Android Auto at the same time

Took my car for it's first 100 mile round trip yesterday. Most of my initial reservations about it were dismissed. When I was first driving locally, I realized that while wind noise was much better than my QX50, road and engine noise were not. The road noise might have been due to the tires that came with the 2022 RDX Advance but the engine was loud on the local streets. But after my trip, I sensed the noises subsided. Psychological? Or did the car need some "breaking in"?

In any event, one thing was difficult to figure out. If I am using waze through Android Auto and I want to make a phone call, there is no dedicated phone button. The Acura Voice command didn't work well because every contact showed a list of two with the same name and no other details and I had no idea which to choose.

If I used the HUD system to select phone, I could only access recent and favorites. So the only options I saw were:

1) use the touchpad to exit AA and select the phone on the main Acura system.
2) exit waze and use the phone in AA.
3) use the google vocie recognition in AA
All 3 required the touchpad. Does anyone have any better suggestions on how to make a call while driving with AA running? Thx.

Long press the voice button on the steering wheel and say "Call (contact name)" You can initiate a text this way as well. Long press is important, otherwise you enter the Acura calling feature, rather than using AA. Test try it sometime while parked with the Ign on.

I'll have to check that out when I get a chance to get out to my car later. But, just out of curiosity, what is the difference between the two calling features/systems?
