tech and advance package rim purchase

if you buy advance package they do not include the rims in the tech package.
has anyone had luck of getting a credit for the tech rims?
what has been their excuses? "stacked package" not true by the on line brochure.

That's very interesting, as I'd much rather have the Tech wheels on my Advance RDX...

I like my tech wheels better than those on advance. However, that played no part in my choice.

You're trying to argue that because the Advance package includes all the packages that are under it, that it includes the wheels of every package? Why stop at trying to get just the Tech wheels? By your argument you should get four sets of rims with every Advance purchase!

Advance package comes with Advance rims. Don't like them? Buy different ones. Try to sell the Advance rims to make up the difference (if you can find a buyer for those ugly things).

Same thing with the Accord touring vs sport.

What's with Honda giving the top trim the uglier rims.

It is what it is. I don't care for the Advance rims either, but it is not that big a deal to me that I would spend anything extra to change them, but that is just me.

I agree that I won't spend extra to change them, but I was toying with the possibility of checking with the dealership when I buy my Advance to see if they want to swap wheels with one of their "loaner cars". The dealerships mostly use Tech package RDX's as loaners and if they have one with a few thousand miles they may go for a swap to get new tires out of the deal. As long as the wheels are in excellent shape, I don't really care how many miles are on the tires.

It never hurts to ask, all they can say is no.

Now that you put it that way....

I wish I had thought of that idea when I was buying. Or, I guess. cared enough about it. :-)

But, don't hold your breath. They likely sell the loaners before they ever need to think about replacing the tires.

The dealer probably feels the same way. But who knows, maybe they'll bend over backwards to close a sale. It really depends on how important it is to you; you want the rims, you probably give up some bargaining power somewhere else, like base price. But if you say you'll buy the car for $44k and they say $45k, maybe "swap the rims for the ones from the Tech package and you have a deal" will work.

Or as I like to say it, if you don't ask, the answer is always no.
