I have a 2020 RDX. The other day I noticed there's a second smaller button next to the main release button on my tailgate. I've tried pushing it while the vehicle was locked and unlocked and it didn't seem to do anything. I looked through the manual and I couldn't find any mention of it. I asked my dealer and they had no clue either. It just showed the main release button on the tailgate. To be clear, I'm not talking about the release button on the driver's door. I'm talking about the button on the tailgate itself above the license plate.

 

It's a lock button. Page 151 in my pdf manual. Did you have the remote within range?

 

Ah, thanks. I was looking under the tailgate section of the manual. It just showed the main button for opening and closing it.

I don't remember if I had the remote on me or if it was in the car. That would probably explain why nothing happened.

 

Sad that the dealer didn’t know.
