Red interior with adjustable damping system

So I was looking at the PDF file on the Acura website and with the build your Rex feature on the website. It seems like you cannot have the aspec interior and some exterior colors (blue) with the adjustable damper system. Is this correct? I could only add technology and a spec package or technology and advanced package but not the a spec and advanced package. Was anyone able to get this to work?

This is correct. The adaptive damper system ONLY comes on the Advanced trim which you cannot get with the A-Spec or any of the A-Spec exclusive colours (such as the red interior).

Welcome to the wacky world of Honda/Acura trim logic.

I’ve watched numerous reviews on the new RDX and literally every single one mentioned how stupid it was that Acura thought not putting the HUD, Adaptive dampeners, and 16 way seats on the A-Spec. It literally baffles my mind that they would think it was a good idea to make those exclusive to the non-sporty model.

certainly the dampers and seats. The HUD I can live without. FWIW I didn’t find the 16 ways seats that much more comfy than the a spec 12 way.

The dampeners definitely need to be there on the A-Spec (self explanatory), the seats because you want to be able to adjust the bolsters and thigh extension to hold you in the seat better, qnd the HUD because if you’re driving in a sporty way it’s nice to be able to keep your eyes on the road. Now I’m not saying this crossover is some sports car (even though IMHO the 1G was and this 3G has been getting amazing reviews) but a lot of this stuff is marketing and it fits with the sporty theme.

I could live with the A-Spec (easily), but I have a feeling if people wait a year or two there will be some major option shuffling.
