question re potential warranty problem
question re potential warranty problem
I have noticed an intermittent hum from under the car when going over 100 km/h. The steering wheel doesn't vibrate but there is a loud noticeable hum. It doesn't do it all the time and from what I can tell, it MAY be a wheel hub or bearing. I am buying my car in Aug (the 4 yr warranty ends at the same time) and my mechanic, who looked at it and couldn't find anything, advised me to take it to the dealer before the warranty expires and let them check. He said that even if they don't find anything but something goes wrong after the warranty, the fact that I raised it prior to warranty expiration may help my cause.
Anyone agree? My thought is that if they don't find anything while under warranty and it subsequently presents a problem later, I am SOL.
I suppose there is no harm taking to the dealer to be certain as long as they don't charge me for the check up.
