That definitely seems like the attitude I get when I was looking around,

Dealership near wealthy towns not interested in lower bids, they got enough people paying higher prices.
if you go remote further away from wealthy towns, things can change.... I saved around 2k by going 30min away instead of 2min from home.

RDX AWD Technology Package - Price Quote

I am in the DC area and got the following quote. This is for black with espresso interior.

No other add-ons that I know about.

MSRP - $43,795
Sale Price - $37,490

Plus $799 processing
Plus $995 destination
Plus Tax and Tags

I am wondering about the price how negotiable the processing and destination fees are.

I am in VA and know processing fees in MD are cheaper, can I use that to my advantage?

First post. Purchased FWD Advance a week ago. Final price before tax $40,500 which included $1500 incentive for owning a Lexus. I was also told I was getting $2000 discount for financing with Acura but had keep the loan at least 4 months. Got a 5.5% interest rate even though credit score is 800+. There is no pre payment penalty. Is the 4 month period so they do not get charged back the fee for the loan?

Thanks

That doesn't sound like it was actually financed thru Acura, as with that credit score you should have gotten 0.9%.

He would have not gotten $2000 (I was told its $1500) rebate with 0.9%.

You are correct. It was with Acura financial and I got the higher rate in exchange for additional $2000 discount. If I pay the loan in full today, does the dealer get charged back the origination fee?

Dont think so. If you pay loan in full, did you consider keeping money in saving account or CD getting 1% per year

Thanks for the replies. My question is why did the dealer tell me I had to keep the loan for four months and not pay it off?

Is this in your financial agreement document? If it is, my guess is that they want to charge you 4month of interest to recoup some of the $2000 discount they gave you by taking Honda loan

I just received two quotes. One at 0.9% and one at 4.84% (assumed as I have great credit) the higher one says -$1500 acura finance incentive.

So it is definitely there.

0.9% over 5 years on a loan of 30k or more is a better deal than 4.84% with $1500 discount. Do the math.

I did the math. Have 0 intention of keeping the loan to maturity. In fact, I am going to pay it off before the 1st payment is due. My original question is why did dealer tell me I have to keep the loan for 4 payments to keep the $2000 discount when there is no pre payment fee?

My guess is you can pay it off whenever you want. The dealer may lose some spiff if you pay it off to early however that wouldn’t affect you as they can’t change your paperwork after the fact. So if your paperwork has no mention of having to make 4 payments prior to paying it off I see no risk for you.

Read the document you signed to see if you are required to keep it open for 4 month.
how did you do the math, it was better for me to keep my money invested or worse case in 5yr CD earning 1.6 -2% per year.
On 35k loan 0.9% the total 5yr interest is 800, plus $1500. So total of $2300 to finance.
but if 35k in bank at 1.6% for 5yrs is $2800 interest. I did not see a point shelling out cash.

Yes do the math. It depends mostly on how much you are financing and for how long.

For me personally it's almost a wash.

Another quote I got added $2500 of I don't finance through them. So it could vary. He did say verbally that they could try and match my credut union percent bu that would be up to the finance manager.

Above I asked about the Costco buying program. The best quote I got so far was them by over a $1000. And even though it says a "fixed price" they still honored the conquest rebate. Interesting..... Still working on if the others will match. So it might be worth looking into for areas that the dealers don't want to budge.

Purchased a SH-AWD A-Spec with White Exterior and Red Interior 2 weeks ago. This particular was rare in Socal as there were only 2 with this variation. Purchase price was $43,300 before TTL. Final OTD was $47,678.

Did I read this right? You have got about 10% off MSRP plus you will get rebates $4025.
If so, its unbelievable and to me is the best.

Because they will be charged back a portion of that discount.

But it's the risk they take .... you can pay it off no problem.

How many folks don't pay it off certainly before 4 months go by, not many ... if they take a hit on yours oh well, cost of doing business.

He might be required under his agreement to keep it for 4 month, so even if he pays off early they charge 4 month of interest.
Read the papers you signed, lets not guess

2020 SH-AWD Advance

2020 SH-AWD Advance MSRP - 48,695
Selling Price - 45,300
Rebates: $0 (I took the 0.9% Financing)
Fees: 250 Doc Fee + 33.50 Title
Taxes: $3,532
OTD: $49,115.5

In doing my research, I came up with the following: Invoice $46,263 - Dealer Holdback $954 = True Dealer Cost $45,309

For my situation, I wanted the 0.9 financing instead of the $1,500 rebate. I created a Gmail account, sent every Ohio Acura dealer an email inquiring on their best price for a 2020 Advance and that I was ready to close a deal before month end if the price was right. Responses varied from $500 off MSRP to $3,000 off. Being in Columbus, I took the lowest quote to my preferred dealer to close the deal.

Purchased 10-31-2019 in New England:

2020 RDX SH-AWD Advance Package (Modern Steel / Ebony)

$42,528.29 Cost of the car.
$00,508.00 Accessories (Splash Guards, Body Side Molding, Wheel Locks).
$00,499.00 Doc fees.
$02,720.96 Sales Tax.
$00,150.00 Registration, Title, Inspection.
------------
$46,406.25 Total "out-the-door" cost.

The above price includes $1,500 rebate for financing through Acura. I didn't qualify for any other loyalty or conquest discounts.

Then, in a separate online purchase:
$1,345.00 AcuraCare 72 Month / 120,000 mile extended warranty (Plan D62).
$0,855.00 Acura 48 month / 60,000 mile maintenance plan (Plan M46).
------------
$2,200.00 Total for both plans.

I used the process detailed by Mr. James Bragg here:
https://fightingchance.com/
It was $50 very well spent.

I'm very happy with my new RDX.

Thanks. To get the loyalty rebate, did you have to finance with Acura? If so, were you able to get .9% APR?

Finally pulled the trigger on my wife's RDX

We went to a another dealer and they matched the Costco price. It's hard to say if I started out without that price If I would have gotten a better or worse deal. It was better than Truecar/Edmunds/KBB pricing. It might be worth it for someone shopping to join Costco or Sam's or similar company to have a great starting point. I've bought 9 or 10 new cars over the years so I do have some experience with dealers. It was nice having that first true starting point in writing.

anyhow this is in central Florida,

RDX FWD Red ($400) with tech:

MSRP: 42,195.00
Discount: 3,085.71
Rebate: 1,750.00
Total price: 37,359.00
Doc fee: 899.95
Taxes: 2,838.76

OTD: 41,098.00

Had to use their finance for 6 months @ 4.84% and that includes a $1,000 conquest rebate.

I’m really impressed with the looks of 2020 RDX A-Spec. So I’ve decided to go with it but the Adaptive Dampening in Advanced Trim is really intriguing. Is that really worth the upgrade?

I got this quote from local Acura dealership for A-Spec SH-AWD

Selling price: $47195
Discount: $3200
Rebate: $1500
Taxes, tags, doc fee etc: $3300.54

OTD: $45795.54

Is it a good price?
