Thanks. I lean towards thinking I'd rather have the new Tech than a used Advance. I drive my cars for as long as they'll go typically, and hate to spend essentially the same amount for a car that already has a year or two worth of miles on it, just so I can have some additional bells and whistles. I'm going to do a little checking to see if I can get enough of a discount on a new Advance and, if not, just go with the Tech.

I ended up negotiating a $1,500 discount off the RDX w/Tech, and getting them to remove the paint protection package, which I feel is a pretty fair deal in today's market. So the final deal is:

I also looked at 2020 RDX Tech with 12K miles CPO at Acura Tempe in AZ. I was quoted $41,500 OTD. Asked for 2K discount and was literally insulted indicating may be I should look at Mazda. In the end, relived they didn't give me a discount. So waiting on market to cool down which Fox business predicts likely towards 4th quarter of this year.

Yeah since the 22 RDX is coming out soon, he has decided to wait and see what happens. Dealer have the upper hand for those who wont wait it out. No sense in rushing to buy with limited inventory.

MSRP of $49745. Sold it to me for $46,590 before TTL. but also includes the protection package and door handle/edge films.

What does everyone thing? None of the dealers around me seem to want to negotiate except for this one. Picking up the car tomorrow.

Just picked up a '21 Aspec in Blue/Red this week. Basically got $1,000 off and negotiated the heated Apsec steering wheel + all weather mats included. I would have paid for both those separately so I view it as almost another $1,000 off. Those discounts + $1,500 off for loyalty in this market felt like a decent deal especially when several dealers around me are all above MSRP.

'22 aspec adv msrp off the truck. No adm. Sf bay area. Only two known dealers not charging it here. One of them that wasnt had 7500 on their type s tlx.

In MD there is a max on the processing fee of $500 (VA dealers are charging closer to $800). Some dealers here have ADM and others do not. The dealer where I have a deposit has no ADM. I told one dealer that I would not buy with ADM but they told me they add certain items to all their cars. They eventually agreed to not add the items which would eliminate the ADM. I would try to push back on any dealer with ADM and be prepared to walk away.

Bought a 2022 RDX Tech 2WD for MSRP last weekend. I also have never paid sticker price for any car. We were gonna wait it out, but our 15+ year old Toyota Sienna was starting to have problems so we were forced to either do expensive fixes on it or buy a new car. At least no payments on our trade for over 10 years! No dealer add ons on the RDX. Other dealers wanted $1500 over MSRP or more.

Why 2WD? ACURA is about awd not 2wd. Might as well not buy then.

If you live in some areas, 2WD is just fine. I had a 2019 RDX Advance at the 2 WD was just fine. In fact, the dealer don't usually have any SH-AWD vehicles available unless you request them. I can say that my 2022 ASPEC\ADVANCE does drive different and I seem to like the AWD but it is being utilized in my very flat, no curves part of the country. $2K is useless to spend if it isn't needed IMHO.

I don't drive aggressively, where the SH-AWD might have some interest, even here, but the extra cost, is not needed either.

Yeah I thought about it, but I live in coastal Southern California so AWD isn't really necessary for me. I'm not a skier, so I rarely drive in snow. My understanding is tires or chains are more important than AWD for snow driving. Plus my mechanic said AWD can be more pricey to maintain over time. In this overpriced current market, I decided to pass on spending another $2000 for AWD.

I am looking to get a 2022 RDX fully loaded with A-Spec Advance. I went to a dealer outside of Philly last night and the salesman was kind of mean. He started at around 64k OTD. I got him down to about 56k with a 2,500 trade in. After trying to get more for my trade in by selling I will list it on Facebook the salesman got agitated and basically told me to leave. He held on to my trade in keys the entire time too so we couldnt leave. He said the Zurich shield and protection package were mandatory and I can remove them. Is this true? I got him down to 2,000 on the market adjustment as well. Is every dealership charging this? He also would not give me any of the pricing notes we worked on which I thought was odd. I will sneak a picture next time. I am fine paying MSRP (52-53k) in these crazy times but I do not want to get shafted.

Also, a friend suggested trying Costco Auto Program. It looks like they have what I want in Stamford CT and I am willing to drive 3+ hours each way to get a good deal. Does anyone have any experience with this? It seems like you dont have to haggle or pay the market adjustment.

If it is a "front wheel" RDX - than SHAWD and/or good tires or chains will be the big difference driving in Snow. I just drove my 2021 RDX Aspec SHAWD in 10" of snow in one day - still a lot of slipping - but very predictable and felt secure, but the SHAWD makes getting out of sticky situations (hills, deep snow and icy roads) a bit easier. The limiting factor is the "all season tires", snow tires would be best. One other advantage of SHawd is that driving in the rain, its almost impossible to spin the tires - as FWD only would easily spin till the traction control kicked in.

Which dealership was this? I found Acura dealerships in our area (Philly) to be pretty terrible for one reason or another, and I have dealt with many. And I am not too picky either and my bar is reasonable.

Walk from that dealer and don't look back. Since you are willing to drive for the RDX you desire, shop around online and negotiate your deal online. Once you reach the agreement be forthright in when you want to take delivery. It will likely need to be ASAP if they have it in stock as many dealers have limited inventory. Only pay MSRP for the vehicle and tell them you want no add-ons

Agree with comments...don't give that dealer any business. As for the Costco program, here is my one time experience using it. It was around 2006 or so, for an MDX. We went to the dealership in Vegas, test drove one or two, and then said we had a Costco price, but we wanted a white one (not one of the colors we drove) and he said...oh, white. Well they are not eligible for the Costco program. So, we left and never did business there. I'm sure there have been plenty that have had a good experience with the program, but we never attempted to use it again.

I only purchase a vehicle if the dealer is being totally transparent. Even these days, you really shouldn't pay more than MSRP. There are dealers willing to sell the RDX for sticker, as I just bought a '22 last month for MSRP and no added dealer market adjustment fees.

I am a RN and was talking with a car salesman that came into work (not Acura) and we started talking about the insane used car prices and how cars are going over MSRP and he was telling me that so many buyers have read about the chip shortage so they have prepared themselves to pay over MSRP and dont even negotiate.....He stated many can do better, but have already psyched themselves out of getting a fair deal. Doesn't make sense for him to offer a better price if people are willing to pay more

The lease rate on the 2022 RDX sure is terrible right now. The money factor is .0018 which is 4.32%.
