Hi everyone! Currently, I have a 2019 Acura MDX SH-AWD Tech that I leased last year...I really wanted an RDX, but the leases were horrible. So with COVID and $3000 Loyalty, I thought I could see where I am at. I reached out to a dealer in Central Florida (since my local dealer is small, the discounts are too) and this is the breakdown..I do not know the money factor and when I asked for a breakdown this is what I got...if this is how much a SH-AWD TECH (even though I asked about an ADV) is...then I'll keep my MDX because this is a lot more than what I pay now...I don't hate my MDX at all, was really just curious. FWIW....I have ZERO negative equity and also CARVANA will give me payoff. So here is a breakdown...

MSRP-$44425
Discount $2425
REbate $3000 loyalty

And with 10k miles your payment with first payment down is $568+tax!

In the market for an RDX. Anyway to get the $2500 incentive and the 0.9% interest? The best I could do was basically invoice pricing here in Houston, dealing with the two Sterling McCall dealerships.

Picked up a 2020 RDX SH-AWD Advance Package last Saturday for 39.6k. Woulda been 39.1k but $750 for HCW was put back so negotiated a free all weather mats and a discount on a remote start w/install. Of course plus the usual tags, title, fee.

And I used 0.9%.

  • Unadvertised incentive
  • Acura Healthcare Professional was put back as they require a nurse/emt/docs w/ID. I work for an entity that studies diseases including COVID-19. I could have negotiated this one better but just compromised with accessories.

Thoughts on Offer

Thoughts on this initial offer from a dealer and what a good counter would be for a 2020 FWD Advance:

The discount includes the $3,000 Loyalty Rebate.

Hi again all! Here is a quote I received from a dealer about 300 miles away. The problem is they refuse to give me payoff for my MDX. I would be upside down $1500. However, I can sell it to Carvana and only owe just a few hundred $$ to clear the difference. This is for a 2020 Acura RDX SH-AWD ADVANCE. What are your thoughts?

Is that for AWD? If so, the OTD price is very good. The lease miles are very low. Are you sure you can stay within that range? As low as that price is and as low as interest rates are, I'd have a really hard time leasing that car vs buying it.

Acura RDX Advance

Just picked up an RDX Advance. MSRP with destination was $46,925, + $1,399 for "Pro Pack" already installed by the dealer.
Paid $40,324 + $180 Documentation Fee, excluding sales tax and tags. Equates to 13.7% discount off of MSRP + Destination, and 16.6% off MSRP + Destination + Pro Pack.

Offer required using "standard Acura financing." To pay all cash or get 0.9% financing, would've cost lost $2,000 in discounts. Standard financing rate with a 800+ credit score ended being 4.9%, so I put the most they would take, $3,000, on my credit card for the points, paid $27,000 down in cash, and financed the balance with the intent of paying it off in full in four months. I could pay it off earlier, but the dealer apparently gets dinged if paid off before that so it's a request not to do that by the dealer in exchange for the discount/rebate I was getting. I thought I was treated well and got a great price so I have no problem doing that.

They initially offered me only 65% of what Car Max offered me for my trade-in, then raised it about 80% of the Car Max offer, so I refused and sold it to Car Max down the street.

Hi! It is for a SH-AWD Advance. I have been told I am a great lease candidate because the most miles I have ever had when trading up at the end of the lease was 21,500 miles. So the 10,000 miles lease quote is more than fine for me. I have had my MDX about a year and have put 5,500 miles on it (which is about right for me). I will check into the monthly payment difference with leasing vs buying.

Picked up a 2020 RDX w/Tech SH-AWD (MSRP: $44,025). Used Acura standard rate financing ($2500 incentive) and got the Acura loyalty rebate ($3000).

MSRP: $44,345 ($44,025 sticker + $145 splash guards + $175 floor mats)
Incentives: $3000+$2500
Final Price: $35,200 Final price does not include TTL but does includes all dealer and doc fees. This price also includes Acura all-season floor mats and splash guards.

After all is said and done around $9K off of sticker. Seemed like a good price. Maybe not the best possible but good enough for me.

Definitely a good lease candidate. I'm just not sure that leasing makes sense in this particular situation. It doesn't seem that this lease's money factor is particular good. Meanwhile, purchasing interest rates are extremely competitive. I'm guessing maybe $200 more per month for 2 more years and you'd own the vehicle outright. I've leased a lot of cars so I don't come at this with leasing stigma. I just think in this particular economy, leasing is rough due to poor money factors and low residuals.

With all these ridiculously low prices people are getting on new RDXs now, I suspect the resale values will also be really low when many of us are ready to trade in for the latest and greatest in a couple of years...

$9,000 off a $44,000 vehicle? More than 20% off! That's great... now....

I agree. That was another reason I was thinking it would be better to lease since the residual will be what it will be at the end of the lease. Resale value won't matter much if I decide to turn it in and lease something different or trade up to a newer year Acura.

But they are probably already anticipating low resale in the current residual, therefore making the lease less attractive from the start. In general, their financial analysts are better at this than we are. Manufacturers subsidize residuals all the time as an incentive to turn cars but there's no evidence that Acura is subsidizing residuals at this time.

Just signed a deal yesterday for a RDX SH-AWD ASPEC Package (White with black interior).

MSRP: 47,035
Final Sales Price: 41,129
OTD: 45,000 (NJ Tax)

Financing it @ 0.9% APR over 72 months\

Called multiple dealers near me and this seemed to be the lowest I could have gone.

My info is a little late, but I got a 2020 RDX, Advance Package, MSRP $48,695 with:
- Front & rear splash guards
- Rear vinyl trunk tray
- Wheel lock nuts
- Nitrogen filled tires
- Welcome light

Sale Price: $43,945
- $1k down
- 39 month term
- $697/month for 15K miles (all inclusive).

Got it during the Labor Day Incentive last year + manufacturer rebate for another vehicle I already owned. Did the entire deal over 24 hours via text with the sales guy (super cool) while I was at work

After what seemed like an eternity of comparing the car I knew I should buy (RDX) to the one my heart thought it wanted (X3), I signed a lease for a Gunmetal Grey RDX Platinum Elite. It was going to be a lease anyway (business reasons) and the 0.49% interest rate was a huge factor (lowest available before up here in Ontario, Canada, was 1.9%, to my knowledge).

Since the wheels on the Platinum Elite (the "Advanced" package in the US) are, in my opinion, the worst off all of the stock RDX wheels, I negotiated to have the car delivered with Blizzak WS-80 winter tires on the stock wheels. This works well, because I hate when you get a new car and want better tires, and you are faced with the choice of waiting until the stock tires are worn or throwing out almost-new tires. I also negotiated a small discount on top of that. For context, those snow tires in 19" size are about $1,200. I also added the "protection package" (aka rubber floor mats and cargo area protector) and the more expensive lease-end insurance (I have two kids, they don't behave, ever).

I found myself a bit disoriented negotiating a lease because the salesman kept pointing at the monthly cost but I think I did alright.

With about $3300 up front, it's exactly $700+ hst per month for 24k kms.

I'm VERY excited, and spending wayyyy too much time looking at wheels lately. The whole world is spinning.

I'm not actively in the market but that looks like a great price...and that's not a loaner or demo?

I got this price from a dealership about 2 hours from me in NC. I think this is a pretty good deal. Can you guys give me some input on what you think?

Only rebate I qualified for is the Loyalty.

Not a demo or loaner. Just aggressive negotiating. Looks like you're in the DMV. Both Pohanka and Radley were willing to get to that $33,275 number.

This is a great deal. I live in Charlotte and got a quote a couple months ago from a few dealers and Crown in Greensboro was the best deal.

I'm going to wait on the MDX but I think that's the best you'll find in NC. I'd take it. Charlotte had good discounts but Crown was better.

No longer in the market since I got my RDX in June but I wonder if the RDX incentives will continue past July 6th. I noticed that RDX sales are up 11% in June 2020 vs June 2019 (5,410 vs 4,868). Sales still down for the year 24% (was down 37% end of May) but the factory was closed for a while too so supply is probably less in 2020 vs 2019. I guess we will find out on the 7th...

How much were you paying for doc fees and tags at both Radley and Pohanka? I'm guessing your quote also assumes financing at current market rates and not the special financing rate of 0.9%. Was your deal made in late June or early July?

Should be the same, $795 or $799 I think. Tags same as well as it's DMV, unless you want to transfer your current tags. I purchased two recently from both - you can ping me for details.

After seeing the great deals the past several weeks, tried for $9750 off at my local dealer. ($3000 Loyalty, $2500 financing, $750 Military, $3500 dealer discount) u
After a few days: NO. Looks like the dealerl will take off about $1750 plus the Acura rebates then finance $20,000 at regular market rates.

Hard to believe the $10,000 to 11,000 discounts given my experience with a car lot full of RDXs Any thoughts advice?

I previously posted a quote from a dealer about 300 miles away. I could into make that trip at the time and then my state saw a major outbreak of COVID cases, I decided traveling would not be wise at this point. I revisited my local dealer and sent them the quote from the other dealer. My salesperson talked directly to the GM and he gave me a better deal than the sales manager did, but this is the best they can do. He said their dealership "is not setup for the volume process" and this is the best they can do. This quote is for a Gunmetal Metallic/Ebony SH-AWD Advanced (my second color choice). It has 30 miles on it and has been sitting on their lot since November of 2019. If I want a black one, I have to the pay transport costs and the latest built one he can get is in January 2020.

My question is this...I realize when the 2021 MDX debuts, the trade-in/resale value of my MDX is going to plummet (for a short period). Would it be wiser to reassess say next May/June and hopefully they can get me a Black/Black and not have to pay transport costs? Would that give the value of my MDX time to "rebound?" I have already made my mind up that I plan to replace the Continental Tires with Michelin's before I even take delivery.

How can anybody really know what the resale value of your MDX will be, or what local, national or global events might come up to create differences in the sales price or resale values? If you want the vehicle, just agree that this is what you want and pay best price you can get now...and be at peace with it.

Every time I read this thread, I fleetingly think, OH! I should have waited... I would have saved X number of dollars...OR maybe not! BUT I would not have had the enjoyment of driving this great car.
