Parking a breeze with the Aspec/Advance package...

Not sure if this is only on the Advance or not but...
I know some of you have read thru the entire manual of the car but I definitely did not. One thing I discovered recently was that when you go to park in a spot, you can press a button
on the end of the turn signal and use the outside cameras to see your car in relation to how it is in the spot. This is a pretty awesome feature ! Maybe this is old news to some...but its new news to me so I thought I would share !

It is indeed a great feature; and being able to activate it at will (without first activating the rear camera) is a big plus. Initially, I was disappointed when I learned that the reverse tilt-down feature of the exterior mirror didn't have memory of the position that it is adjusted to. When I adjusted it low enough in order for it to show the curb after shifting into reverse, subsequently shifted out of reverse, and then shifted back into reverse, it only moved down to the position that it had previously moved to before the adjustment. But eventually I remembered something that the dealer showed me - the side view feature where you can see the tires (on each side, simultaneously). The only drawback is that the feature cannot be invoked while in reverse.

If you’re referring to the side mirrors all you have to do is slide the mirror adjustment switch to the side mirror you want to see curb on. Then when you shift into reverse the mirror will tilt down and then go back to your pre set position when you shift back into drive.

My disappointment was in that the reverse tilt-down feature doesn't remember to what position you would like the mirror to tilt down to.

In other cars that I have had, the feature would remember the position to which you would adjust the mirror while it was in tilt-down mode. In my case with the RDX, I wanted the mirror to tilt down to the point where I could see the curb and after adjusting the mirror so that I could see the curb (while in tilt-down mode), the next time that I shifted into reverse the mirror did not go down to the point where I had previously adjusted it to.

Luckily we have that side-view feature (on the Advance only?) where we can see the tires, though unfortunately, not while in reverse - but it is still advantageous.
