Gotta love that Ohioan attention to detail.
I honestly wish it didn't have a sunroof at all.

A sunroof is a great place to put your coffee cup while opening the door without worrying about scratching the paint.

Technically, these aren't a sunroof, they are a moonroof. A sunroof is a movable panel made of metal, while a moonroof is made of glass. That distinction has been lost over the years.

I need new suspension components to fix the creaking noise which makes the car sound 30 years old - we actually had this issue on another one of our cars several years back - a 20 year old Maxima! I had a new steering wheel put on because the leather was unwrapping. Brakes are a problem - squealing. Moonroof needs adjustment or replacement which either way is major work removing a headliner. This is big stuff we are talking about on a car that I have filled with gas once.

If they have to pull up the gasket, why do they need to remove the entire sunroof? What did dealer do?

Please tell us the "fix" that was applied by dealer for a un-aligned gasket.

Also a great place to forget your cup of coffee and watch it pour all over your windshield as it falls.

Not sure you're right. As I understand it, the RDX has both a transparent sunroof and a moonroof, the former being the movable 1/2 in the front, the latter being the immovable 1/2 in the rear.

the definitions have become a bit confusing at times and since virtually no car has a sunroof anymore, the term sunroof and moonroof are used interchangeably - but the actual definition is sunroof = metal - moonroof = transparent (glass/plexiglass).

The panoramic roof is a moonroof with second fixed panel. The names came about when Nash built the first sunroof to "let the sunshine in". In the mid-70's, Lincoln designed a "glass tinted sunroof" that they called a moonroof because it made the sun look like the moon. The term caught on and for the next 20 years or so manufacturers made moonroofs. Somewhere along the line somebody started calling those moonroofs sunroofs.
