This is not a drill. On my way home from work I got notification that there was a software update available. Surprisingly, it was not a false notification. D.1.1.4 just installed 5 min ago; not sure what the changes are or how it will perform. No Android Auto, but I’m sure you guys won’t be surprised about that.
“And again ACURA has made me a happy man. Just completed the system update via in vehicle WiFi and Bam this little gem
Of an SHAWD screen now stays put. I took a trip around the neighborhood completed 6 engines cycles and Bam it never changed back to trip. Functions just like the 2020 thank you acura #LoveRDXASpecGen3
Sorry for the noob question but do I need to connect to wifi to do this? I never bothered setting it up. And I live in a loft building, my unit is too far away to try to connect to. Thanks

Not necessary to connect to your wifi, it comes as an OTA update. I just checked and I'm not able to get the update yet.
I drove it for about 30 mins tonight after the update, which only took like 10 mins. That was nice to see. So far what I've noticed is CarPlay seems to work better, specifically with iOS 13 beta 8 and this update. My music used to skip at 25-27 seconds into every song, tonight it only did it once or twice. Which is a big improvement. No lock ups or screen freezes, but it's a small sample size those things don't happen to me nearly as often as my music skipping. So we will see. So far it's better, but not quite there yet.

The fewer skips is a fluke. 30 mins imho is not enough of a test to say no lockups or freezes. I am running Beta 6 and have had a CarPlay freeze and reboot. Phone was not the culprit.

Well all I'm saying is that it was better than it's been in months for me. I don't think it was a fluke. I am optimistic on this update.
Anyone else get this update if so what does it do?
Got mine tonight on the way home from dinner. Didn't see anything obvious but then again my only issues were minor in nature. I've only had one issue with the car and it wasn't the infotainment system. 2019 Advanced I got in June 2018. No Android Auto yet but we'll see. I heard there were multiple updates coming so let's hope AA is on the way.
Glad for any update at all, but getting one now and (through my profession) having some knowledge of software release makes me even more concerned/convinced that the Android Auto release is still at least another quarter out --- if at all. Really disappointed that the AA update wasn't in this.
Brother, you mean the lags / hesitations in throttle response are improved?
While getting off work today, the update pop up and I just did it while I was driving home. It's done before I got home. I found that when using the paddle shifter, the gear indicator not jumping back to D immediately, but showing sm5 then sm4 then sm3 instead of jumping back to D immediately. It seems the system now gives the driver more gear info while it still automatically shifts. I found it while I am approaching my drive way at low speed. Not sure if it's really the case.
It didn't ( yet ) get pushed to me, but I pulled it over home WiFi. I allowed my AcuraLink subscriptions to lapse, if that matters for OTA ( it may ). I have SH-AWD but I doubt that matters.
Thanks for the heads-up!
Are there functional enhancements to the Acura nav, or was I just being inattentive to the previous version?
Apple CarPlay is definitely enhanced in iOS 13 public beta 7.
Just updated mine but can't remember where to find release notes. Can anyone share a link?
My first impression is that the update reset my home screen icons, removed all user-defined home screen shortcuts (nav, contacts), and all my navigation favorites within the navigation app have disappeared but it still tells me they exist. It's a pain to have to set all this back up and hopefully future updates won't keep doing this.
